Will other sports try to mimic the Field of Dreams Game?

This has obviously been a huge success for baseball, especially with how the first matchup played out. It sucks that they are building a permanent stadium on site, and MLB hasn’t committed to playing beyond this year, but that’s what happens to nice things.

Do we see the NBA try to host a game at Rucker or the Hoosiers Gym? I’ve been to the latter, and they have hosted NBA stars for charity events, but I don’t recall it being televised.

I’m not sure what the NFL could do. The HoF game might be the closest they could come. No star is gonna suit up for an exhibition.

Some stuff is cool, some stuff is just a stunt like The Battle at Bristol...did they issue every ticket-holder a telescope as they walked through the turnstiles? And I thought watching a CFB game at the L.A. Coliseum when they had a running track was bad...let alone a giant racecar track.

Or the CFB games at Wrigley...you cross the 50 yard line on offense and then have to turn around and go back the other way because the outfield wall prevented a second decent endzone.

College basketball on an aircraft carrier is cool.

They do an outdoor game on New Year's Day every year and most of the time it is awesome. Doing it in LA when it was 80 degrees outside was not their smartest decision, but it is a cool thing.

And people can actually SEE the game because they're right on top of the court.

It probably felt like they were on the court with the players.

Would have been even cooler if the carrier was sailing

I'm surprised other states haven't tried this and hold H.S. games just for the nostalgia.

A game at The Sandlot would be cool, but it's apparently in the middle of a crap neighborhood in Salt Lake City.

shite we did this every time we played Newellton High in district games

Turned off the main highway onto a gravel driveway that turned into a turnrow after about 10 yards, then followed it down to the side of the school where the corn opened up to a small baseball field with basic wooden benches that had rectangles painted around them for dugouts, and a line drawn midways up the wall of the school for a left field fence.
