Why is MMA considered more exciting than boxing?

Watching fight right now.
The standing up game is like watching two pussies scared to do anything. 5 minute round with a total off 6 punches thrown, non landed.
The ground game looks like two lovers spooning.
How is this exciting at all?

I'm with you to an extent. I prefer boxing when fighters go toe to toe and try to pummel each other.
Floyd's style is highly effective and much better for his health, but it's not super entertaining.

MMA is trash. Nothing like watching two dudes dry hump for 15-25 minutes and try to win a decision.

i dont watch either but do like Olympic boxing. But MMA seems to have a lot more personalities in it

I agree with you. Instead of leaning on each other and not punching, they lay on each other. I was told years ago how much better mma is, but I don’t see it.

It is pretty boring. The ref lets them basically do nothing for long periods.
At least in wrestling you have to get up or get a point and reset.
They need to make these MMA guys get off the mat quicker if they're just hugging each other for a full round.

There is no rhythm in UFC. Boxing can suck but at least can be entertaining for more than 5 seconds at a time. Most exciting situations in UFC are instantly undercut by a period where nothing happens

for every good boxing match there is like 10-20 good mma matches, probably more.
frick even some women mma fights are way more exciting to watch than boxing. the rematch of the 115 lb women saturday night was infinitely easier on the eyes than the heavyweight fight from the other weekend.
also mma does a much better job of making matchups and having relevant fighters on the various cards. for instance this coming weekend will be a free card headlined by dustin poirier and justin gathje which will be way better than any boxing match in the last 20 years. along with that fight there are 3-4 other matchups with decent to very good fighters that will be good matchups.
ufc fighters especially are doing a better job getting into entertainment. multiple ufc stars are in movies and tv shows. boxing has nobody that has an ounce of personality outside of mayweather, who is too dumb to remember any lines.
boxing is just fricking boring. jab jab grab, ref breaks them up... jab jab grab, ref breaks them up... its terrible.

I'm not a fan of boxing nor MMA, but I'd much rather watch an MMA fight than boxing.
