I think it's because their thing is winning as a team, and losing as a team.

Kawhi is getting a pass because, deep down, no one considers him capable of carrying a team. Lol I mean, he's no King James.

Shooting - most points in the league
Or assists - 6th in the league
Three pointers - a count hair off from being in the top 10 for most 3s made in a season
Which one are you neglecting?

He's said a lot of stuff over the years that other top stars wouldn't get away with without wall to wall coverage talking about it for 3 days.
Yeah but he sneaks it in there with the press. He doesn't say much on the court and he just looks like a quite dude. He's also built like Gumby so I'm sure that helps.

That doesn't close any case.

The only solid piece of information you can infer from that google search is that James Harden is more popular than Leonard. We have no idea how many of those articles actually use the word "unselfish" in direct reference to Harden.
These tricks must work on someone dumb in your life.

Type in "Kawhi Leonard selfish" and compare it to "James Harden selfish" and see what you get.

What has he gotten a pass for
All of it has been passed on to Westbrook.
All of the stuff he says in interviews and post game pressers? Don't mistake what i'm saying, i love it and see nothing wrong with it, but he's only said a million things that we laugh about and no one cares that if Lebron or someone else said it, we'd have 17 threads on this board that go 10 pages each.
Yea, he's gotten tons of passes. Hell, the one time he didn't the newspaper retracted the headline the very next day.

"kawhi leonard" 512,000 results (.48 seconds)
So 7% of Kawhi articles are about his unselfishness.
"james harden" 29,400,000 results (.44 seconds)
0.5% of James Harden articles are about his unselfishness.

quote:If GS loses to the Cavs, people are going to take a huge steaming shite on Curry's unanimous MVP award. They will freak out and say Lebron should have been MVP the last two years and Curry is just a stats machine. They will say look how Lebron was better in back to back playoffs when it really mattered etc etc
Make no mistake, even someone like Curry is going to have the media and national audience turn on him one day too, but they have to lose first

Yeah, they will. I think someone like Green will still help defer some of the Curry hate, but it is coming if/when they get beat.

Odd way to frame going to the WCF 4 of the 5 times he's been there. The one time they didn't go was when Westbrook got hurt.

Again for like the millionth time. Bron's got Chosen 1 tattoo'd on his back, goes by King James, and people considered him the next Jordan. He's going to get criticized for those things more heavily then others.
KD's gone out of his way in the past to divert that type of talk about himself.

He's gotten overly criticized in that market plenty. Been referenced as a reason to want out a lot.
That headline was the worst because he came out and torched the Grizz in the next game

But I'd hope it opens eyes to the fact that even though it's called the MVP, it's really just given to the player who had the best regular season.
