Why is it so bad for the BCS if Boise and/or TCU gets in?

The system is what it is. Who gets in the BCS NCG says nothing about the BCS or the process it uses to determine the teams.

Because they don't play any fricking body all year and don't deserve it.

I don't mind if one sneaks in.

I don't want them playing each other.

It'd be bad for ratings like SFP said, but I don't think it would lead to a playoff. If anything it would eliminate all the bitching by nonBCS teams

They've played each other the last 2 years and both bowls had very low ratings.

Likely? It's a guarantee. As I said before, people want to see David vs Goliath or Goliath vs Goliath. They don't want to see David vs David.

Exactly.

Boise vs Oregon/Auburn/Wisconsin/LSU would probably have pretty big ratings

two big schools would also have pretty good ratings

if BSU-TCU happens, it may be the first time the rose out-shines the NCG

TCU vs Boise State's ratings last year in the Fiesta Bowl were 21% lower than the Fiesta's ratings the year before.

Who's pouting? I was talking about ratings. America would care less about the national championship if Boise vs TCU happened than if one of those two teams played a 1 loss BCS conference team or two one loss BCS conference teams played. I would bet anything on it

The problem with these schools getting in is that once they have broken that barrier of being blocked out of the NC game they will have a great chance of being in every single year with their easy schedules.

I agree.

TCU/Boise vs. Big School would be huge ratings I think while TCU vs. Boise would blow donkey balls

The BCS conferences want to keep the money to themselves. National Title Game pays out around 14 million per team.

No sane person would willingly give away 28 million dollars.

do either of those teams play in a conference that created the BCS?

how can a team that doesn't play in a BCS conference win a BCS national championship?

AP? Fine.
Coaches? Fine.
Any other poll? Fine.

BCS? Nope.

It'd be like LSU winning the Big 10 in 2007 because they beat Ohio State.

Slackhouse makes no sense... they're part of the system just not AQ's.
