Why is it difficult for sports leagues/ESPN to stay out of politics?

NBA with BLM on the court and jersey names able to be turned into a social justice message instead.

NFL social justice decals on the helmet.

ESPN to run political segments.

Even collegiate universities with all of their "woke" sentiments and mini-videos. (I know, recruiting ... i guess)

Is the leadership at these institutions that boneheaded to not realize that sports is an escape from all the bullshite politics? Am i the only one that's amazed at how stupid these decisions are?

Will i still watch? Sure. (well not ESPN political programming) But it's definitely annoying.

So much for enjoying sports for the escape of it all...

They use sports as a forum to deliver propaganda. It’s not longer about sports.

Find alternative sites and channels.

I've got to think it hurts bottom lines ... yet they still do it anyway. It's incredible.

I hope the NFL folds. I hope they die a rather quick, slow death. Watching their million dollar contracts slowly slip from their grasp. I would relish the fact of them knowing they are playing their last season because they wanted to support BLM and losers like Kap. I want them to see the division they inflicted with their SJW act only to see them do an about face when they realize their privilege lifestyle is gone.

because deep down they know that grown men should be embarrassed to be doing nothing but playing children's games deep into their 30's

and even worse for people who merely cleat chase guys who play children's games into their 40's

Someday, when whoever replaces ESPN does a documentary on the rise and fall of the NFL, I want this to be said. They backed the wrong horse and lost YUGE.

ESPN is owned by ABC. Not hard to connect those dots.

For the first time in a long time I'm not excited about opening day, I actually doubt I will watch to be perfectly honest. As far as the NFL and NBA I don't really watch either so I'm not hurting it either way

Players have been pressured into becoming political figures by the general public

MLB caught a lot of flack for not making a BLM statement and now they are working over time to correct it. Not to mention several writers are all of a sudden "woke" and telling us how bad we are because blacks don't play professional baseball
