I went 3 for 3 with 3 singles against Iowa back in the day.
Only day I didn’t suck in high school baseball.

Boys Basketball lost in round 1 on the road like Sterlington…….

You can make the argument that just locally Barbe, Kinder, Jennings, and Welsh have been more accomplished than Iowa in sports the last 10 years. There’s plenty of schools in the state more accomplished.

Sterlington isn't as good at basketball, Iowa beats Cecilia in baseball and softball for sure, others aren't small towns like iowa. For a small town to be as good as they are like Iowa is remarkable.

Barbe basketball has never even made a state championship game, and the tournament maybe once when Lafargue was there. Jennings in baseball, softball ,and basketball isn't even close to Iowa. Welsh has softball?

Too tired to read the responses.
My first thoughts: Zachary, Dutchtown, West Monroe

Good game, glad Belle Chasse didn't suffer the same fate as the other schools in that parish.

I-O-Way definitely overachieves, but there are plenty of public schools that are great in sports. Besides the already mentioned, Ruston and West Monroe come to mind.

You didn’t specify small towns sir.

Sadly, COVID was the last nail in the coffin for the outlet mall. It sat vacant for a long time until a Goodpack global logistics place rented out a portion of the building last year.

I’ve been wondering what that business was that took over the space

Why is Iowa High School the only public school that is good at all major sports?
Have they had NFL, NBA, and MLB draft picks all in the last decade?

Iowa is the new Moss Bluff. Good schools and cheap.
As someone who lives in Iowa, that's hilariously not true.
It's rural and poor.

Even more to the point that it's amazing that Iowa High is good at all major sports.

I know they have a couple of baseball championships but what else have they won?

That’s not what the OP said at all

More referring to how they are good at everything. You don't have to win championships to be recognized for that. Iowa has been very good at football, basketball, girls basketball, softball, and baseball these days. Amazing because no other small town schools are like that.
