Why is Angels manager Mike Scioscia still employed by the Angels?

He has one of the best baseball players of all time in Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, a good player in Ohtani, but has not been to the playoffs in 4 years.
He won a World Series (2002) and since then has failed in the playoffs in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014.

You do know how old Pujols is right?

Because Artie Moreno wants him to be employed?

It can buy you a lot of time.

Takes a little more than Mike Trout, Ohtani, and an ancient Albert Pujols to win a World Series.

Pujols was the worst player in baseball last year.
He’s better this year but still not good

Such a weird way to word it. Generally, making the playoffs in baseball is a success. This isn’t the NBA where half the league gets in.
Do you fail if you lose the ALCS?

Quite possible that his owner, Artie Moreno, still believes in him, and values stability.
Scioscia has won a lot of games for the Angels, including a World Series. Im a little surprised he is still there given their recent payroll and expectations, but good for them I guess

Tommy Lasorda was the Dodgers manager for 20 years and he won two WS.
But he also won 8 division titles.
His 16 wins in 30 NL Championship games managed were the most of any manager at the time of his retirement.
His 61 postseason games managed ranks fourth all-time behind Bobby Cox, Casey Stengel and Joe Torre.
It's not easy to win a WS.

That farm system hasn’t developed anyone but Trout in a decade and Pujols is 50+ yrs old.

They should have tore it down and rebuilt around Trout 2 years ago. If they had, they would be in much better position now.

Correction: After checking the standings, I have determined that Scioscia must have nude pictures of Artie Moreno, or hell maybe even Gene Autry.

They gave all their money to AP. None left for pitching
