Why doesn’t Notre Dame join the ACC full time?

They do this part time gig thing with the ACC and it makes me wonder why not just be a full fledge member?

They make more money being independent

Because they don't have to. They normally play a much harder schedule than most teams anyway.
They'll occasionally draw a tougher ACC opponent or two and also play Stanford, USC, and Michigan.

Because they're fricking special. They consider themselves "above" the rest of us conference members lol.

A) make more money with the NBC contract
B) get to schedule 7 non-conference games
C) get the ACC bowl tie-in's, but also get to keep other bowl options

Damn, Notre Dame has to play Notre Dame? That is a tough draw. No wonder they never go undefeated.

Why would they? That would be dumb.

So they can play Syracuse, duke, wake forest every year and avoid Clemson/FSU

they used to be a national draw, and are trying to cling to it.

I think they play on a rotation. I think play Clemson again in the next 3 or 4 years

Exclusive contract with NBC

Avoid them like the plague. Their schedule would be legit if they had Clemson every year. Nobody would take shots at their schedule.

because as independent they are guaranteed a top 10 ranking no matter if its deserved or not
the system is rigged to favor them just like alabama and ohio state

They should be told to join a conference or they are not eligible for playoffs!

Oh god here we go. I agree about ND getting too much favoritism but Alabama clearly deserves to be where they are. Ohio state is a year to year basis. They definitely didn’t deserve the CFP in 2017 or 2014. TCU and Baylor got shafted hard.

Ohio State has gotten left out twice when on the bubble.
