Why doesn’t college teams get the hats mic’d up like they do in the NFL?

Would solve the sign stealing with all those obtuse signs on the sideline being held up? I mean aren’t the hats air conditioned now anyway?

This doesn't really solve the problem for hurry up no huddle teams.
You would need a sound system in each player helmet otherwise you would still need signals.
The only solution is to huddle.

So good point you bring up. With the amount of $$$$ college and pro make why doesn’t every player have a hat with sound (and a/c for that matter) and problem solved. Right?

Ok then no a/c for them. But I’m sure Ridell or Under Armor could mic up the hats they give to the schools. Cmon man this is not that difficult.

The problem is that the NCAA makes uniform rules for FBS, FCS, D2 and D3.
They would need to make separate rules for the two most likely.
