Classic drop-back passer vs dual threat and the Brady Mystique, NOLA didn't become a dynasty, "the system" despite he's the greatest QB to ever run the Air Coryell not named Dan Fouts, some of his most prolific seasons intertwined with legendary seasons by other quarterbacks, after his comeback in 2006 a season he achieved didn't include a great narrative and sports writers love narratives and all that shite, a bunch of it's nonsense

Not making the NFL 100 group was a monumental slap in the face. No way to argue against it.

Bc the Rules have changed to benefit passing and he plays more than half his games in a dome.

Drew Brees is too boring to get the attention, and I mean that as a compliment. He's a normal guy. Tom Brady is the Tom Cruise of football and Aaron Rodgers is a "heel" that's walked the red carpet with a couple of celebrities

Peyton did too for a great extent of his career and received all the accolades in the world

I don’t think nobody puts manning #1 all time.

I mean, for as great as everyone realizes he is, and all the records he has, he somehow doesn't have a league MVP or more than one 1st-team all-pro selection. Then throw in no 100 ranking or all-decade team.

He's been respected plenty, but if he was a QB in certain markets with more Super Bowl wins, he'd be in more GOAT conversations. At least he has one.

Not saying it's wrong or right, but he does seem to be shrugged off compared to others historically.

I don't but he's certainly more decorated with sportswriter-voted awards and those build his mystique

I am on Team Brees, and I don’t think he’s disrespected.

The All-Time Team...maybe was a dick move, but there are many worthy candidates in this era.

The only knock on Drew is that he won 1 SB. That’s why Brady gets so much damn love.

Brees is like Tim Duncan or David Robinson. He’s not ‘sexy’ in FB terms. He just grinds and gets the job done. He’s consistent, and will be an all-time great when he is remembered.

On a side note, I can’t think of an athlete that I revere to the point that I get mad when others don’t give them awards and whatnot. Drew is humble, and he’s a SB Champion, multiple major record holder. I don’t think he cares about other stuff.

As talented as David Robinson is, including him in a comparison with Tim Duncan and Drew Brees, CLEARLY all-time legends, is inaccurate, David Robinson's basically the equivalent of Patrick Ewing: so much talent, put up a ton of great numbers, received a ton of accolades, didn't win anything until Tim Duncan carried his arse to 2 titles (Patrick didn't win anything at all but I affirm my point). David underachieved commensurate with his talent, it's as simple as that.

He had the misfortune of playing when Manning and Brady did. Rodgers looked like the next coming of Jesus but had fallen apart lately so who knows if he will rank higher in the random fans heirachy.

I think it's as simple as him being in a small market.

Because he’s not *supposed* to be the best. That’s it really.

because he checks all the wrong boxes

1 strong with god and is often open about it

2 strong supporter of police and military

3 was against kneeling saying it disrespected american military and america and one of the few to say it openly

4 he is so much better then those who get credit over him that its literally a jealousy bias they refuse to give him due credit going out of their way to deny him his due

This is why I will never care who wins this award. The fact that Brees hasn't won it at least once, tells me how big of a sham it is.

As far as super bowls, we saw the kind of season the Saints had in 2009 when their defense stepped up.

Brees has literally played with historically bad defenses. If not for that (see 49ers in 2011/Minnesota in 2018) and the WORST no call in all of sports in 2019, he likely has 2 more rings at a minimum.

I’m a lifelong Spurs fan. I agree, DRob is not Timmy on court, but their general personality is similar. I think Robinson was more valuable than your average hoops fan would think.

Point is, Brees is the nice guy. He wasn’t Aaron Rodgers, or some beast running back. He has a personality that is kept to the vest. From what we see, he’s one of the nicest guys in the league. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing him a couple of times. He’s a genuine guy.

The NFL is a tabloid league. Sex sells. Crime sells. Etc. That’s not Drew.

I think he’s a top 5 QB of all time.
As a Drew Brees advocate and Saints fan, ai wont argue with someone who makes a case that there are 5 better guys than Brees. But there arent 7 guys better than him.

Tom Brady
John Elway
Peyton Manning
Joe Montana
Drew Brees
Brett Favre
Dan Marino
Johnny Unitas
Aaron Rodgers

This is my rough order taking off the Saints sunglasses.

The self-persecution Saints fans put themselves through.

It's like your team stumbled on an elite decade and you don't know what else to do but act like you go 3-13 every year.

Same reason Fran Tarkenton isnt as revered. Both are/were system quarterbacks who had all the records but for the most part sucked in the biggest moments.
