Cause in 2 years he broke defensive records. Was electric on the field. Broke ankle on KR/PR and was a Heisman finalist that put up 3x the performance of T'eo.
Kid is a Tiger. Even though he fricked up he wasn't going to go to any other school but LSU.

I know. He seemed kind of shy as a freshmen to me. When the honeybadger nickname took off is when he changed IMO.

Dude he wasted his talents at LSU.. its not up for debate.

That is certainly up for debate. He overachieved and was a heisman finalist. Did he throw away his last season? Yea, but his career still makes him an all time great

He was nothing but a nice guy on campus and never physically harmed somebody. He was a dumb kid, but making bad decisions like the ones he made does not make him a bad person

Why do so many LSU fans give him a pass for his repeated screw ups? Got caught multiple times for the same mistake, with seemingly the world in his hands. It appeared that he ruined his future TWICE at one point, but now is getting a 3rd chance.

I think pot should be legal, so I could care less about guys toking and at least some NFL teams feel the same way.

We have our fair share which I pointed out.

I personally would rather worry about my own success than a kid gifted with the talent to make millions.

I feel bad for guys like Prothro or Chad Jones that lose their career due to circumstances beyond their control. It is hard not to root for people like that. I find it easy not to care about guys like Orlando McCain or DJ Hall who bring trouble on themselves.

LSU fans give him a pass for the most part. They also about his lack of self control in his last season. Many of us LSU fans just want to see him succeed and become an ambassador for LSU. Well that is my take on it at least.

That being said, when you're a suspension away from being kicked out of school or you're on probation, then you need to be smart enough to say no. He put pot above his career and school. That isn't very bright.

I think most people look at Mathieu the way that people look at Dez Bryant. I'm sure that there are some OSU fans that worship Bryant but most of the world thinks he's a moron.

Really? To me LSU fans are mostly the ones who are ragging in the dude. He has a bad NC game, just like everyone else on the team, and all of a sudden he sucks and can't cover anything.
People forget the kid was a damn Heisman finalist and had probably the best two year span of a defensive player in CFB history.

I'm rooting damn hard for the Saints to pick him up Bc I think hell always have that chip on his shoulder to play with

You could say the same thing about Teo, however a lot of people on here are saying he was exposed by a team loaded with NFL talent.

I give TM7 a pass because he is the best defensive college football player I have ever seen. Period. What he did on the field in terms of the instincts; batted balls, strips, etc, I have never seen before. Lsu doesn't lose a game last year if he plays.
