I mean some people here don't like her for race reasons, others b/c her attitude rubs them the wrong way. She's a basketball player and has no impact on my life whatsoever so......I wish her all the success in the world, and hope she finds Jesus....if she hasn't already. I don't know her.

I think people mightve not liked her behavior but it mightve pissed them off more because she is black.
Someone even called her a thug. So if a white player like Clark, would've waved her hand in someone's face and acted like angel do you think those same people would call her a thug?

no, her blackness did not piss people off more.
what happened is she used her blackness as a victim card.
she created racial drama. it elevated her celebrity status. she road the celebrity status hard to gain attention, followers, and eventually the money train of endorsements.

like its cool that angel got to points of success and fame that she wanted to achieve. but she did it in ways that are very polarizing. you aren't deserving to be liked by all. i've never liked lebron, i've always felt like i had a good beat on the type of bitch personality he was. I always hated on him before he was popular. i actually used to really like angel (i was aware she was black at the time too) but then her selfish behavior which turned into racial divide and all she could do is constantly play the race card to get to the fame she wanted. It unapologetically turned me off.

Perhaps because she plays on a team full of thugs (so bad that their enabling hood coach got fired) as well as her tendency to take shots that then become rebounds, rinse and repeat. She is the female Dennis Rodman. Contrast that with a fellow rookie who can make shots from anywhere, got screwed out of being on the USAWBT (in large part because the likes of Sue Bird and Griner can't stand the GOAT being straight), and actually stood up for herself when she was taking strays from all directions. And to say the quiet part out loud, there is a certain group who have taken all of that and turned it into a racial/political thing. There's also the whole "CC is a Midwest girl" people vs the "Angel is southern packaged east coast trash" group as well.
There are large numbers who have boycotted those doing business with her. McDonald's FAFO with this fatcentric meal of her's. When these companies push her it only hurts her outside of her small baked-in group of fans.

She is quite polarizing - I commented a week back in this thread that someone close to the program said she was a good kid and thought she gets a bad wrap, and I got some pretty angry responses challenging that statement on several levels.
So, yes folks have very strong opinions about her, and most are not good.
