I've been watching him tonight and I am not that impressed
I'm not saying he sucks, but people act like he is the clear cut #1 NBA draft pick
You know how I know you don't watch basketball

ya then you have clueless Joe's saying he's a "tweener" in the NBA
he has major tweener potential
he's short for a 4 and THIC!™ for a 3
you've bumbled, misrepresnted, and straight up lied in this thread. are you still that mad that the Pellies didn't take the trash LAL offer?
Posted on 3/17/19 at 8:20 am to SlowFlowPro
there are no tweeners in the 2019 league dynamics dude.
it's a different game today. watch the game before commenting

oh wow, let's go back to my original quote that you keep misquoting
thank you for repeating what i already said, mr. intellectual
do you want to also repeat the fact that simmong was the clear cut #1, which i also already said? or are you going to lie and say i compared them as prospects?
quote:
in the neo-NBA this may not be as much of a concern but i'm not sure. he's going to have to get a lot better shooting which is likely) or lose weight. there aren't that many comparisons b/c of his unique physical profile

Charles Barkley was a completely different player who played at a completely different time under different rules.
Charles Barkley could shoot and play 1 on 1. And he used to constantly back guys down for like 10 seconds until he got near the basket and hit a little jump shot. That doesn’t work in today’s NBA.

Check out early 76ers Barkley when he had athleticism. It looks more like Zion. Later Barkley’s game was backing people down but that was after he slowed down. I’m not saying Zion is Barkley, but their power game looks more similar if you look at Barkley’s early career.

aying against lesser talent will make you look better than you are. He is a turnover machine waiting to happen in the NBA. He plays a lot of post at Duke. Aint happening in NBA. 6'6"?? Will be the biggest bust since wendy whoppers.
That assumes he’s a finished product.
Zions best attribute is his energy.
Dude will immediately be a top 3 NBA athlete. If not #1.
With pro developmental coaches and trainers he’s going to an All Star in 3 years...or less.
Posted on 3/17/19 at 10:26 am to ThanosIsADemocrat
he will be an all star in year #1. few people can guard him in the current league.
think Malone but with vinsanity athleticism. it's over if he stays healthy

The number 2 prospect also plays for Duke and is a shooter on a team that, statistically, isn’t a good shooting team. I’d say that makes Zion a pretty clear cut number 1 pick.
Posted on 3/17/19 at 10:53 am to Mr Perfect
My concern is Zion's longevity. That's a tremendous amount of force every takeoff and landing and his legs might have trouble with 82 games
Posted on 3/17/19 at 11:08 am to The Funnie Five
He’s too short. The NBA is going to kick his arse.

Julius Randle is averaging 21/9, so that is a really good player. Blake Griffin came in with no real shot, replied on freakish athletecism and averaged 22/12. Williamson puts up close to either of those, he is an all star, especially in the East.
Julius Randle is 6’9”. Blake Griffin is 6’10”.
Zion is 6’7” and probably 6’6”.

Zion literally could play every position on the court. The dude is an absolute monster. No one can be 6'7 280 and play point guard with anyone in college right now and be as agile as him. its un real he is like a cheat code
Posted on 3/17/19 at 11:30 am to Hailstate15
he's more than just an athlete too. he's actually a "basketball player" meaning he has finesse and a feel for the game
biggest concern is weight on the knees. at 18 being 280 is just not natural.

Height is overrated, especially when it comes to the post. Length, power and quickness are greater assets. Plus 6'6 isn't short. There is a huge lineage of great post players under 6'7. I don't think you understand how rare it is for there to be a well proportioned and coordinated athlete over 6'3. That is what makes great basketball players so unique and special.
When I was in college, there was a movement that was spurned after Barkley. Huge athletes that would normally play football that started playing basketball. Guys like Oliver Miller, Rodney Rodgers, Anthony Mason, Byron Houston, Corliss Williamson, plus dozens of others. Almost all of them had solid NBA careers, even now guys like Ben Wallace, Haslem, Harrell, PJ Tucker are doing fine. His height isn't going to hold him back. Plus who is to say that he stops growing? He is only 18. Rodman was 5'11 at 19. David Robinson was 6'7 when he started at the Naval Academy. It happens..
