Why do people say Zion Williamson is such a good player?

I've been watching him tonight and I am not that impressed

I'm not saying he sucks, but people act like he is the clear cut #1 NBA draft pick

Maybe because they've seen more than 30 seconds of him playing this game called "basketball."

It's all the rage.

Not a finished product by any means, but his athleticism is off the charts. Soooo much potential.

Who would you take over him?

Aside from playing point forward, he is doing everything.

He isn't clear cut.

Morant brings more value and is going to be elite.

Williamson is going to have major trouble against NBA bigs who are every bit as athletic. Two different games college and Pros. .

Simmons was a better pro prospect than Williamson by FAR and yet his college year was very unsatisfying for a lot of people.

I’m trying to think of the last player I’d have been tempted to take before him. Maybe Davis? If this were an Olympic year I think Zion would absolutely be on the team like Davis was 7 years ago.

Let the record show that this is UNimpressive to the esteemed Funnie Five.

Yeah idk what game you are watching. He is going to be #1 pick. No doubt at all. Unless he gets in some serious accident or legal trouble.

I get the hype gets annoying at times, but he's clearly very good.

I think my question is whether or not he is transcendent in the way he is being portrayed. Easily the most hyped player since Lebron. Not sure his skills translate into him becoming a consistent top-10 player in the NBA. We shall see.

How many players in the NBA are as athletic, let alone "bigs"?

look i dunno what position he plays in the nba or how well it all translates - but against his current peers hes the greatest thing ive seen since lebron.
