Got introduced to them for the 2006 title game against UF. Called us rednecks and southern trash, made fun of our state, our accent, our culture, everything - just acted like they were superior people. Then they got their asses whipped. Their record against the SEC is abysmal.

OSU hasn't really had a "down" period of more than 2-3 seasons since the 1930s. The number of times they've gone an entire season without being ranked since polls started can be counted on one hand. I don't think any team in the entire country even comes close to that level of sustained excellence. Bama, ND, OU, USC, etc all have had stretches of half a decade or more of mediocrity. OSU being good is the closest thing to a universal constant in this crazy sport.

That is the worst OSU fan site full of complete retards so if that is your impression of OSU fans then sure. But go to a game at Ohio Stadium vs Michigan or Pedo St and you will see who actually has the worst fans.

The great myth, tell me you didnt actually watch the game without telling me.
Two key points, 1) That play at the very least was defensive holding which was a first down anyways, and 2) Never should have went to OT bc OSU was screwed on a bad call on a clear first down catch with 2 min left. Today it would have been ruled a catch and first down with replay and they'd have run out the clock, back then bad call prolonged the game and went to OT.

With ties to both schools, I am the most qualified to opine here. This board is off base with Ohio State. LSU fans are off base with OSU too, but to a lesser extent OSU fans also have an unfair view of most normal SEC fans.

Why would I do that ? Reading their ridiculous, uninformed takes is bad enough. I couldn't imagine actually having to listen to them in person.

I respect Ohio State and have a few close friends that are alumni and are great people. The reason their fans have a terrible reputation (earned IMO) is because the contingency that cheers for them but never attended the school are as bad as any in American sports.
When Texas played them in the shoe in 2005, there were Ohio State fans (again, I’m quite sure they weren’t alumni) throwing full bottles of beer at elderly female UT fans and children. This wasn’t an isolated incident. Challenged to fights after the game for no reason other than that we won.
When they played in Austin the next year and beat us, talked to some cool OSU fans, congratulated them, told them I hoped they enjoyed the trip, and wished them luck the rest of the way. One of the Columbus townie types and his friend are lurking nearby and start yelling at me about how Texas sucks, Austin sucks, it’s ugly, the women are ugly, etc.
The only experience I’ve had as an opposing fan that is anywhere close to what I saw in Columbus in 2005 was the last SWC game against Aggy when corps idiots were punching UT coeds with closed fists. I might expect that from Premier League fans, but I hope I never see shite like that in any American sport ever again.
