About people protesting during the national anthem. He's using a false dilemma, trying to get people to pick "sides" on an incredibly complex issue. So, instead of saying well he has no real opinion on the issue, or trying to persuade me to thinking positively with his side, he lumps me in with his opponent. It's a lazy argument, but it works for him because he gets the rush of feeling morally superior while also supposedly outing another villain.

I love how the go-to card for him, darryljames, et al is "the only reason you post what you do is to get approval from white ppl." If I'm lockstep with them, great, but if not, the only explanation is some racist ulterior motive

Amazing.

i really dont know what to tell you man, you're ignorant beyond belief. I dont know if you go to the money board but I own a pretty decent sized business, I have around 55 employees at 7 locations. I have convenience stores and fast food restaurants. I literally can't find enough employees, I pretty much constantly have ads out trying to find bodies. There are so many jobs out there, sure they're not engineering jobs but the lower class of society isn't qualified for that. I can't find people and Im offering $10/hour which is well above minimum wage. Im even willing to hire people with criminal backgrounds, etc it doesnt matter bc 90% of the battle is just having bodies in place.

When you see poor people say there are no jobs, they're lying flat out. Poor people are poor bc they're lazy, there is no other answer. My dad came to the US in 1971 with no money to his name and he told me being poor was so little fun that he hated being home and depressed so he worked 2-3 jobs, today poor people in the US have cell phones, flat screen tvs, etc and the government makes them comfortable enough through entitlement programs that its almost not even worth working. I own a ton of section 8 rental properties, do you know how ridiculous it is that the government is willing to pay $935/mo to house people? That is unreal to me, but whatever as an investor if the government is willing to pay me a 20% cap rate, who am i to complain.

Yep, symbolic gestures like these accomplish nothing

You responded to me. You have no voice because you go over the top to gain acceptance from anyone tha will give it to you. If you're apathetic about the things your brothers & sisters are fighting for, then fine. Not everyone just wants to toe the fence in hopes that everyone still likes them

I am ignorant? You are viewing things through your own view is in reality oppression.

Excuse me? You really are dumb and judgmental. Just because you have a certain set of values does not mean there is not oppression. I bet you go out and tell everyone you are not racist or bigoted either, when in reality everyone is both at some level.

Incorrect. I speak my mind. Always have. Whomever agrees, agrees, whomever disagrees, disagrees. I really don't give a shite--anonymous people in the internet don't sway my opinion on matters one iota.

I don't have to cosign anything just because someone shares a similar skin tone to mine. That's fricking idiotic. I make up my own mind about shite based on the logic of the facts at hand. But go ahead and keep in checking your opinions against the litmus test if what the supposed black party line is. Apparently that's super important to you.

I'm always willing to have a civil debate. Obviously that's not a possibility today with your racist, presumptive dumbass.

Go frick yourself.

what is the oppression? Oppression is when you have to worry day and night whether your african dictator is gonna slaughter your entire village. Oppression is when you work all day like a dog and cant feed yourself. These things do not apply to americans, much less to millionaires like colin kaepernick who get paid millions to sling a ball around. None of us in the United States know oppression, go to countries living through civil wars where people dont have access to food and water, that is oppression. Even these ANTIFA embeciles go home at night to fresh water and air conditioning, so again nobody in the US is oppressed.

It is so easy to go out today, no matter how poor you are, and land a job, you just dress normally, speak normally, and act presentable and I promise anyone can land a job in less than 30 minutes....and if you're ambitious enough, you can even work a 2nd job, there's only 168 hours in a week, imagine that, going above the government limit of 40 hours a week and working say 60-70 hours a week doing a little more than the minimum....if more people would do that, maybe they could get ahead and stop being so oppressed.

The bottom line is, in the United States, nobody holds you back but yourself. We have women in power, we have minorities in power, we have everything you can imagine here. These things dont exist in liberal utopias around the world, so just chill out when you wanna discuss oppression bc you look really ignorant.

No you are looking very naïve for painting oppression with a broad bush and not understanding oppression occurs in many forms.

You first took a shot at the poor and now are taking shots at others, not understanding oppression in the US is not the same as in a foreign country. Forms of oppression are not always alike.

The amount of victimization in this thread.

At the end of the day, black, white or brown, all of these guys can take a knee or put a hand on a shoulder.....it doesn't matter as they are exercising their "freedom of speech." Unfortunately, for NFL owners, the American public has decided to hold the players accountable for their actions.

Some folks on the MSB see this as a non issue, but for the greater American public it remains a hot issue and will only escalate as the privileged white guys like Derek Carr and the Britt guy from Seattle demonstrate solidarity with their soul brothers. The backlash against Kapernick may pale in comparison by the time this is over.

I agree, football is on its way out long term any which way you spin it with that recent study that 110 of 111 brains showed cte. The big issue now is people and enjoy it and it's a gigantic business with billions invested from so many owners. This nonsense is driving lots of people away, I'm not one bc I still love football but it's just amazing seeing the protests from millionaires.

The question will be which sport or sports move into the power vacuum that football will leave.

You come in here beating your chest to me "I'm apathetic & black!!" Like you are speaking for everyone. You simply say that because your bitch arse wants approval from others. You're entitled to your opinion but that doesn't mean you aren't spineless. Now all your white buddies know you're on their side! I bet that feels awesome! I'd actually take your opinion seriously if I didn't already know your MO

I love watching football as well as it entertains me. I don't tune in for the purpose of willingly witnessing a guys right to protest or exercise his freedom of speech. I think most viewers share that opinion and when coupled with a sense of patriotism, these "protests" from players making good money simply turn people off and the product loses its inherent entertainment value.

For white people it will be hockey and baseball. Blacks will still be basketball advocates.

Never once did I say or imply that I spoke for anyone. You made the assertion that it was "white privilege" that permits one to be apathetic. I disagreed with that in the grounds of my own ethnicity. That's not "speaking for everyone." I don't do that. I speak for me. It just so happened that in so doing, it put the lie to your assertion.

Presumptive and incorrect. I disagree with plenty of folks on this board, black, white, and in between. Not hard to find, either. Peep the post history before you run your mouth.

Translation: you'd only take me seriously if I took your side (or the assumed "black" side). If/when I don't, you automatically try to invalidate what I say based upon this fantasy you've cooked up, instead of debating my reasoning, which has never been based on the skin tone of any audience of mine.

fricking lazy and weak from you, Lester. You're better than that. I think.

I'm thinking basketball or soccer (maybe both). Just due to global influence.

In all fairness, Lester, TBird views come from his conservative heritage and upbringing. I took me a while to really understand it, but I finally got it. It really isn't that he is trying to gain acceptance from whites. It looks that way because we are on a forum where the vast majority of the posters are white males and are conservative. To his credit, he hates all things confederate. TBird is just a really, really conservative guy that will take the conservative viewpoint on most issues.

Dude I don't care if you take my side. It's the manner that you do it. You didn't give me your opinion or explain where you're coming from.

What did you do? You jumped in and simply gloated that you are apathetic so all your white buddies knew. What the frick is respectable about that? Nothing. Because it's your MO. You're programmed to cater to your white wife, her white in laws, her white friends. That's fine and I understand. But don't sit here and act like you stated some opinion that needs to be respected.
