So if Janay Rice wouldn't have hit the rail in the elevator and been knocked unconscious, and instead would have taken the punch like Mayweather and walked off, would you be OK with the comparisons?
Why do you people keep making up scenarios to argue against that I never stated?

Either reading comprehension around here is terrible or the strawman is your favorite type of argument.

I'm not defending what he did.

But explain to me how those are "serious injuries" or "severe injuries".

Well I don't think he's out for the year, but I don't expect him at day care this week either.

Explain how ISIS chopping off that journalist's head is a "severe" injury.

That's beside the point when talking about specific injuries

No its not beside the point and in the court of law you would also be incorrect. Age definitely matters!

cause you keep asking what the big fricking deal is saying the injuries aren't sever enough for there to be a big deal about it and a 4 yr old just got switched on his nutsack bro. What the frick is wrong with you.

The planet where giving a four year-old welts and lacerations across his thighs and genitals is considered a serious and severe assault.

This isn't an argument on what Peterson's punishment should be.

This is a medical argument as to how serious the injuries were.

Not what I'm saying at all.

I'm saying they are not severe injuries from a medical stand-point. They aren't serious or severe.

I never said this shouldn't be a big deal.

Of course, hitting your son with basically a whip until he bleeds is obviously abusive.

But this thread is talking about how talking heads seem to be dramatizing it and making the actual injuries sustained seem worse than they are in reality by calling them "severe".

The problem here, and I mean this in all sincerity, is that you're too stupid to understand... anything, really.

You are totally correct that if I showed up to work with welts and bruises no one would insist I go to the hospital and no one would have sympathy for me. But the fact that you don't see a difference between an adult receiving the same physical trauma as a toddler is frightening. I really think you're somewhere on the Asperger's spectrum.

Not only are his physical injuries sufficient to be called "severe and serious" but you're neglecting to even consider the mental damage a beating like that leads to. Anxiety, bed wetting, living in constant fear of your own father are all pretty traumatic side effects of a beating like this.
