Aaron Rodgers

Yeah...the hype and pressure for Tiger wasn't even close.
LeBron could have a learning curve like Kobe did.
Tiger couldn't.
Yeah, again, not close.

Hell guys like Wiggins and the Brow had more pressure than Ball.

I feel for Lonzo given the antics of Lavar and the pressure that comes from his fathers self promotion, brand building, player hyping, etc.
Intuitively, it just feels like Lonzo is position to be a bust. For his sake, hope not, but won't be shocked as the weight is heavy.

I don't see him being a bust. I see him going to lakers and filling in for Kobe

they paid 16.5 million dollars for the green monkey as a two year old before he ever stepped foot on a race track
he never won a race
he never won a race

I don't think they tanked. They were just trash without Manning.

I'm rooting for Lonzo because his dad is such an asshat

Agreed on Crosby have extreme pressure.
Woods, Harper, Crosby, LeBron..... all good answers.

Freddy Adu....wasn't he the #1 pick at age 14 or something? He was supposed to be the new Pele.

Damn that's a good one. The next Pele. Staying in America was such a bad idea.

I was gonna say whoever the new awesome 18 year old we have now is... but people don't care enough about soccer in the United States for those guys to face the same level of pressure, IMO.

Yeah the lack of success in American soccer takes the edge off slightly.
But when you're called "The Chosen One" in a sport where Babe Ruth, Stan Musial, Ty Cobb, Barry Bonds, and the like, that's pressure.

So not only was he touted as the "next Pele," with the pressure of being expected to become a superstar in the world's most popular sport, he had the pressure of elevating the sport to new levels here--becoming the face of this market waiting to explode. And all of that pressure at 14.

Frankly, that's way more pressure than a player just becoming the next "all time great."

Op is correct.
No else close although many failed under the strain.
Drugs. Chris Washburn.
Alcohol. Chris mullin.
I think the chief coming out of centenary as nation leading scorer did not come up to it at first.
How about Rick mount? Shoot and no quick enough to play d.
Before your time philadelphia first round pick, len rosenbluth, north Carolina
National champ shooter no d. Cut and waived out of league in mid season. Crushing. Imagine..

I think Eli Manning was under a lot of pressure for sure. Constantly being compared to his brother and going to the biggest media market in the country after a controversial situation at the draft where he basically said without words that another franchise wasn't worthy to draft him.
That still boggles my mind that all of that took place. I mean Peyton should have whipped his arse and told him to suck it up and play for the Chargers. The Colts were a goddamn dumpster fire before Peyton went there. Marshall Faulk was about all they had going for them.

freddy adu is a really good answer as are lebron, crosby, harper, tiger, etc...
Posted on 5/8/17 at 9:30 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
Tiger woods? Lmao no not even close and golfers in general can't come close. Lebron and other team sports players have a franchise they're responsible for including that teams fanbase. Lebron started in Cleveland where he's from, Cleveland hadn't won a title of any kind since 1948 and that's a rabid fanbase who had to endure countless heartbreaks. Lmfao a golfer seriously dude that's about as bad an example as there is. Tiger could have won 3 majors and nobody would have called him a failure. Hell once 2004 rolled around Phil Mickelson had more pressure on him to win a major than Tiger even had if you want to talk about pressure in golf.
