Daniel Cabrera ALWAYS sucked. I would've paid a homeless guy 20 bucks to stab him in the neck. That POS was beyond worthless. He had only a passing familiarity with the strike zone. I hated that he was even considered a prospect. He sucks so bad light doesn't escape.
You nailed it -- Mussina and Bedard. Here's something even more depressing, until Matt Wieters made the All Star Game last year (Markakis has never been), the Oriole farm system had not produced a position player who had made the All Star Game since JEFFREY HAMMONDS. That's a staggeringly awful farm system for two decades. In 20 years, the O's system produced Mussina, Bedard, Hoiles, and Hammonds. That's about it.
A lot of that incompetence, but there's also been some incredibly bad luck as well. Every top prospect has failed. All of our B-level prospects have also failed to turn into usable parts.
ETA - It's the #1 reason why I've been reluctant to criticize the MacPhail administration. He's been the most successful GM in 20 years at managing the farm system, which speaks volumes to how crappy our farm system has been. Going from "horrific" to "below average" has been a major improvement.

Me.
At least we'll lose in the playoffs this year!

Loewen supposedly has turned into a decent hitter prospect. Ankiel type. I know it was the PCL, but he hit well in AAA last year.

If we're not going, you're not going.
Greatest moment of Orioles baseball since 1997. It was like winning the World Series.

Dan Cabrera signed a minor league deal with the Pirates last week. Will pitch in relief in Indianapolis.

Speaking of MLB, has anyone been watching Baseball IQ on MLB Network? I like it, but some of the quest are stupid and the first 8 innings really dont matter since the 9th inning scoring is so ridiculous.
