I’m not asking for better career that’s a dumb question. I know it requires a lot of speculation to figure out but for those of you that were able to watch both or can remember both who was more talented in terms of raw potential?

I seem to always remember hearing stories growing up about how cooper was the most talented of the bunch had he gotten the chance to prove it. Is this accurate?

Partly stemming from an argument with a friend who posts here and is likely to see this thread.

People say Cooper but that's probably just the injury and not playing bringing up the what if.

Other than that, Archie.

But seriously, Peyton and Eli were specimens as far as qbs go.

Peyton was created in an NFL QB lab. He’s the most talented in that family.

It’s 10000% Peyton on talent. Athleticism it’s Cooper all day. Cooper would have to had a career like Randy Moss to be close to Peyton in talent.

First born is never the star for life, he seems to be the H.S. or College star...might've had more talent but the younger ones look up and work and strive to emulate...that's a powerful motivation.

Look at the Carrs. Most people agree David Carr was the better QB in College.

Does Peyton become Peyton without Cooper before him to look up to and emulate?

I think having older brother as a star helped Peyton and it certainly helped Eli (who I'm not sure if he was an only child would've ever been an NFL QB.)

Yeah I still remember thinking how the frick is a guy that looks like me that can't see over his lineman going to beat a 6'5 Manning that has it all, but Brees pulled it off and why I hold that win so special.

Second born here and this is 100% true in both life and sports.

One went on to win another Super Bowl and the other went on to be a cuck. Pretty remarkable.

Agree. Even though Peyton had issues in quite a few playoff games, he was definitely the better NFL QB than Eli.

Nobody will ever know how Cooper could have done in college and, more than likely, in the pros due to his health issues that took football out of his future. Any scenario presented would just be pure speculation and you can't back up any valid argument with "what if's".

Why couldn't either one throw a spiral to save their life though?

Cooper was the most athletic by a long shot, but not even close to the most talented....that would be Peyton by a good margin.

Two different type of players. Cooper was an athletic wide receiver. Peyton was a pocket passer QB. So it's not really a fair comparison

Steph yes I agree. Hold on with TJ Watt. Dude is quietly having a strong season with the Steelers. He probably won’t ever achieve what JJ has, but he’s capable of being a great player

Archie Manning will always be the most-talented in the family.

He should’ve won a Heisman, and arguably would’ve been a first-round MLB draft pick, had he went that route.
