Dupree was a head case and had bad influences back home, notably Ken Fairley. Very little real blame lies with Switzer. No coach, teacher, counselor, etc., can reach them all no matter how hard they try.

This has nothing to do with Marcus Dupree...
Did you not get the context of what you quoted? You said, I figured tongue in cheek, "that mean ole Switzer" when you were discussing players being reprimanded during a game. How Switzer was getting on Dupree for eating fried chicken before a bowl game.
All I was say saying is Switzer is a scumbag....

Lots of people in power positions are scumbags. Switzer’s affair with his DC’s wife several years prior has nothing to do with how he handled Dupree.

If it makes you feel better, Switzer and Lacewell eventually moved on from it, and they worked together with the Cowboys in the ‘90s. Lacewell remained married to his wife too.
I would have been done with both my wife and Switzer for good in that situation, but that’s Lacewell’s business.
Switzer may have screwed Lacewell’s wife, but he didn’t screw Dupree. Dupree and Fairley did that.

How Nick Saban treated AJ McCarron during one game at Alabama has absolutely no relevance to how Switzer handled Dupree during his tenure at Oklahoma. What an absolutely ridiculous comparison. Not all players respond to a certain type of coaching the same way. Tell me you realize that right?

You're legit arguing that Switzer did nothing wrong with Dupree and it was all on Dupree while Barry Switzer himself admits he did things wrong with Dupree
Literally no one is saying that Dupree didn't create issues for himself but I think I'm going to believe Barry Switzer made mistakes when Barry Switzer said he made mistakes.
