re: Who plays in BCSNC, 1 loss Notre Dame or 1 loss LSU

I still can see UF losing Saturday and Carolina losing to Clemson. That will help ND I really think LSU needs UF to win out though, until Atlanta for them to get a shot. Especially if UO KSU go unbeaten and if they do LSU has no shot.

The only way the SEC champ gets left out is if the SEC champ has more losses than 2 or more teams.
This is probably correct.
A 1 loss SEC champion doesn't go over undefeated KSU , ND, or Oregon.
If there is only one undefeated team(outside the SEC), that team will play the 1-loss SEC champion.

USC (leads division now)
You sure about that?

Everyone in South has at least loss so yes I'm sure.
The key sentence in the post you're referring to was IF it plays out this way ND CAN have wins over 4 BCS con Champs.

It should be ND they play a much tougher schedule. But I am 100% sure LSU would get the nod and it probable wouldn't even be close.
would it really be a harder schedule than
Washington
Florida#?
USC #3
Texas A&M #23
Alabama #1
MSU #?
Florida #1

if that happens they not only will be behind lsu, they'll be behind oklahoma too in the rankings. this is a dumb argument. LSU isnt getting jumped by Notre Dame.

How the hell will they be behind OU? That makes no damn sense?

you are right. whenever #8 beats #5 they usually dont pass them up the next week.

If they beat OU and USC they won't fall behind OU. If the loss is like the BC loss in 93(?) the voters will not kill them. If its a loss like to Stanford 2 years ago where it's over 10 then yes.
The loss has to be to Pitt though not Wake.

Well at the end of the year...it's where they end up...your opponent in the computers and ranking...not what they were ranked when you played them. Bama doesn't get credit for beating the #8 team in the nation...unless Michigan crawls back up there.

Argument I've been having with a roomate: If Notre Dame loses to #8 Oklahoma and LSU wins out and are sec champs both teams go 11-1 who goes to the title game ?
Neither gets there if Oregon and K State stay undefeated.

No it was about a 1 loss ND and 1 loss LSU not who they lost to. The OP started with OU but it morphed. Because you have to factor in who comes from the East. If UF loses to UGA and FSU they're not as big of a power broker.

Really they have played 2 top 10 teams already?
Link?

quote:exactly. And this is where the people pumping ND's schedule forget. Ok, so they don't play an FCS team. But looking at the top half of each schedule, ND's wins would not be as impressive.
You don't get brownie points for having better rent a wins
Not only that, but LSU already lost. They are at 6 now and would continue to climb by beating Bama in a week and a half....you're telling me with ND's upcoming loss, they'd STAY in front of LSU?
So if you agree that ND won't stay above LSU, then you're saying that they will JUMP LSU down the road after we win the SEC?

its really not worth debating with anyone. its such a slam dunk anyone who disagrees should probably just be written off as slow.
