I didn't expect anything from either so I don't really see how you can describe them as "busts"

Leinart and especially Sanchez had expectations

Leinart is a bigger bust but Sanchez is the worst player.....

I wouldn't consider Cassel because he has at least had 2 good seasons under his belt and never actually started in college so wasn't expected to do much in NFL

Sanchez was drafted higher -- if he's worse how can Leinart be a bigger bust?

because he has had a lot more time on the field to prove he is more pathetic

And he was nearly picked as Mr. Irrelevant on draft day.

Yeah.. he barely played at all in college, thus had zero hype coming into the league like the others listed.

A lot of people thought Sanchez was a reach. Leinart was an incredibly prolific college quarterback who was being championed as a rare talent- a Heisman winner who would have gone number 1 overall if he had left a year earlier.

Leinart has a Heisman and would have been probably the #1 draft pick had he come out early... His expectations were higher regardless of draft position

Leinart won a Heisman and has never been a successful starter

Doesnt matter whether he had an awesome defense or not Sanchez made the AFC Championship in both of his first 2 years

Cassel was a career backup in college so the bar was never high for him

I presume Leinart tumbled on draft day due to lowered expectations

Cassell wasn't hyped, thus he wasn't a bust. Palmer wasn't terrible. That leaves Sanchez and Leinart for the modern era. Sanchez has been below average, but at least he's had a shot. Leinart has mostly just flamed out.

You have to go with Leinart. Maybe Marinovich, but that was kinda before my recollection.

Lienart is such a massive bust he can't even get playing time so you can see his failure. Sanchez is at least good enough to get the ball.

Lienart was a freakin first rounder. Mega bust.

Interestingly enough, Sanchez and Leinart have the exact same career QB rating of 72. Leinart has a higher int/TD ratio, but lets be fair, the Jet's D and run game the last few years have propped Sanchez up.

I have to go with Sanchez, but damn it's close. If you are a top 5 pick you should be one of the better players in the league in your fourth year. You shouldn't be fighting for your job.

Obviously, all time it's the Marinovich project.

Leinart won a Heisman, and can't even win a starting job in the NFL. Sanchez may be losing his job, but he held it for several years.

i don't think Leinart was given a fair shake in AZ. I thought he was a decent QB in the limited time he had to play. Probably better suited for a backup.
