I can't think Cassel is a legit contender because he never even started for USC.

I agree with moustache.. although ML never impressed he was on a crappy team with limited chances

Matt Leinart hands down. He was by far the best QB in college but has produced the worst results. At least Matt Cassel was a Pro Bowl QB at one time and Sanchez did take the Jets to two AFC Championship games. Both QBs might not be very good but they did have some success. Matt Leinart has done absolutely nothing in the NFL.

Cassel can not be considered a bust. He may not be a top flight NFL QB, but he never started a game in college, was 6th or 7th round draft pick, and became a serviceable NFL QB.
That, by definition is NOT a bust

Matt Leinart wasn't on crappy teams, they just played crappy when he was at QB. The same team once they replace Leinart with an aging Kurt Warner went to the SuperBowl and won the divison the following year. The next season Leinart was beat out by Derrick Anderson.

2. Matt Leinert (Cardinals), 2006: The Heisman Trophy quarterback led the Trojans to the 2004 BCS national championship (later vacated) and was drafted 10th overall. The Cards had high hopes for the 6-foot-5-inch lefty, but many believed he lacked NFL throwing strength. After a number of lackluster performances, he ended up carrying the clipboard as backup behind Kurt Warner. After Warner's retirement, Leinert lost the starting QB role to journeyman Derek Anderson and moved on.
1. Todd Marinovich (Raiders), 1991: Robo QB came to USC with high expectations after much media hype. He picked up the starting quarterback role in 1989 as a redshirt freshman. He led the Trojans through a solid season that included a comeback win versus Washington State and a win in the 1990 Rose Bowl over Michigan. His 1990 college season was a bust and after an arrest for cocaine possession, he entered the draft and was picked 24th overall by the Raiders (ahead of Brett Favre). Marinovich had flashes of brilliance as a rookie, but he never got it going in the NFL as he struggled with substance abuse. He lasted just two seasons.

i am having trouble understanding why none of them develop in the nfl but their running backs are always good at the next level
They do?

They all suck in the nfl, Barkley will be no different
I remember when this meme was "All QBs coached by Tedford suck in the NFL, thus Aaron Rodgers will suck".

As much as Sanchez sucks he was the starting QB on a team that went to two straight AFC Championship Games. I know that had more to do with the Jets defense and running game than with Sanchez, but he still gets brownie points for it in my opinion.

What I find hilarious is that the Tebow fanboys give Tebow all the credit for getting to the playoffs and winning one game, but then they turn around and bash Sanchez, even though his teams advanced further and did so twice, with Sanchez contributing at least as much as Tebow did to his team's success in the playoffs (and that's being generous to Tebow).

TM for sure, At least ML and MS can provide some value as backups. TM literally provided nothing to the Raiders except for some booger sugar and a complete mental break down. Honestly when you are a franchises biggest bust (bigger bust than JaMarcus IMO)that is one hell of an accomplishment.

was picked 24th overall
Bust labels are usually reserved for top 10 picks.
JMHO.

Palmer hasn't done much since his playoff injury a few years ago. Was looking pretty good before that, though.
It's Marinovich, Leinart, then Sanchez. I don't count Cassell since he was a nobody coming out of college. Can't fall short of the hype if there wasn't any.

I think Barkley could be good with the right team.
Leinart is the biggest bust of the recent guys. Cassel at least started a lot as did Sanchez.
