I like chaos

You’re on committee, what do you do:

Minn loses 1 but beats Ohio st

UGA loses to auburn but beats LSU

12-1 Minnesota Big X Champ
11-2 UGA SEC Champ
12-1 OU Big 12 Champ
12-1 Oregon Pac 12 Champ
13-0 Clemson ACC Champ

12-1 Ohio st
12-1 LSU
11-1 Bama

Alabama hasn’t played a college level program prior to LSU and got beat at home when LSU tried their hardest to give the game away. Bama shouldn’t be in the top 5 imo. You can’t patty cake your way through OOC like that, disgraceful.

Messy hypothetical but I would seed them:

1) Clemson
2) Minnesota
3) OU
4) Oregon
5) LSU
6) OSU

Because of their two losses UGA is out
Because of the other one loss teams (LSU, OSU) Bama is out

Debateably the #5 and #6 teams are perceived as better than #2 through 4 but we are supposed to care about the outcomes of the games.

Clemson, Minnesota, LSU, Ohio State.

Clemson undefeated... they're in.

Minnesota would have wins over Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State in your scenario. They're in.

LSU is in as the SEC representative. Georgia's 2nd loss keeps them out.

Last spot is between Ohio State and Oregon. I think it goes to Ohio State.

Just doesn’t seem right to let in UGA after losing to USCe and Auburn and lifting either LSU or Bama in over UGA doesn’t seem right either.

So the SEC screws itself out of a playoff seat. This is the only thing that makes sense in this completely jacked-up reality.

Baylor would lose to OU twice. They’d be out

In that scenario it’s all conference champs

Clemson
Oregon
OU
Minnesota

No one should argue with that

So UGA would beat LSU in a "Championship" game. But yet it means nothing at all? Winner gets in. That is the essence of a playoff system. 4, 8, 12 doesn't matter. At some point, its win or go home..

This is the most logical, which means it won't happen.

This has already basically happened...

11-2 Penn st was Big ten champs AND beat Ohio State head to head

They still took 11-1 Ohio State

12-1 LSU would have a far better resume than 11-2 Uga. Wouldn’t even be a hard decision for the committee based on their precedent

Yeah true. The committee will do some mental gymnastics to justify putting UGA in or simply allow Bama to crawl in through the back door.

Either that or they’ll screw over Oregon in favor of OSU, LSU or Bama.

So many ways to muck this up that the odds of doing the right thing are slim.

If LSU only loss is to UGA(which I don’t see happening with that putrid UGA offense) they’ll still get in.

The win at bama will be a better win than any other team has and UGA lost to a 4-5 team lol

Clemson is in and Georgia is out based on record. Record has by far the greatest weight. I think they overvalue record but that's what they do.

LSU and Ohio State are the best 1-loss teams in that scenario. Both would have played a much tougher slate than Oregon, Oklahoma, Minnesota, or Alabama. Being the champions of the Pac-12 and Big XII matter to some extent here, but they can't overcome the rest of the body of work of LSU and Ohio State in this scenario.

As for the last team, I think it must be Minnesota. I recognize that this pick would go against the logic of conference championships not being enough on their own, but two factors make a difference here. First, Minnesota would have a pretty close body of work to the other 1-loss teams. Second, I think the optics of letting Ohio State in, but not Minnesota, would be too bad to overcome.

#1 Clemson
#2 LSU
#3 Minnesota
#4 Ohio State

Now do the same thing but have Georgia win out including beating LSU for the SEC title.
