Texans have 0 offensive line and just lost starting RB for the season. Unless Watson plays out of his mind, I don’t see it (Saints Wk 1 struggles be damned)

And how did Tampa look going into last year?

I'm buying into the hype

Cleveland is going to crush Tennessee

Crush? Idk. A win is possible but Im betting Tennessee to cover the number and sprinkling some on the ML. Im not saying you are wrong but Im going to shed some light on this.

TLDR= Cleveland will not be that good this year.8-8 is possible but Tennessee is a much better team. Dont let preseason fool you

The hype regarding Cleveland is faulty. Lets take a look at what they did last year:

What is the hype based on?
Its based on Baker Mayfields performance and the addition of Beckham. Lets look at Mayfields performance first.

He went 6-7 SU, 64% completions, 27 Tds, 14 INTs

Week 3 he relieved Tyrod due to injury during the game and came back and won from a 14pt deficit. Impressive but the Jets didnt gameplan for him. We are talking about a 4-12 team.

Week 4 his first start vs the Raiders (4-12) he lost.

Week 5 he beat Baltimore (10-6) with an aging Flacco 12-9. It wasnt the same team that Lamar Jackson ran but the Baltimore defense was still good.

Week 6 lost to the Chargers at home.

Week 7 lost to Tampa (5-11)

Week 8 lost to the Steelers. Hugh was fired and Greg Williams took over

Week 9 lost at home to KC

Week 10 beat an injured Atlanta team (7-9) and had a Week 11 bye

Week 12 beat Cincinatti (6-10) Dalton was knocked out of the game

Week 13 lost to Houston (11-5)

Week 14 beat Carolina with n injured Newton(7-9)

Week 15 beat Denver(6-10)

Week 16 beat Cincy with a backup QB in.

Week 17 lost to Baltimore

6 wins, 1 vs a team with a winning record
5 of the 6 wins vs a pass defense ranked 22nd or worst.

Impressed?

Odell Beckham was a no show in the spring mini camp. Thats not a good impression for his new team.He has been known to be a locker room cancer. NY didnt want to deal with him anymore. If he was really worth it, they would have kept him. Where theres smoke there is fire.

Titans HC Mike Vrabel played under Belichick and learned how to neutralize a teams best weapon. He has had months to get his team ready for this. Odell wont be a factor in this game.

Clevelands HC was an interim OC. He did well last year but Greg Williams was the man behind the curtain. Will he be able to contain the egos on the team?

Browns had 31 takeways last year. That number is coming down for 2 reasons. No Greg Williams and regression to the mean.

Titans went 9-7 the last 3 years. And they will get crushed by the Browns?

Mariota is 2-1SU vs the Browns and 3-1 SU in his first road game of the year.

Browns defense allowed 24.5 pt per game last year with GW. They also benefited in the Division from having Todd Haley as the OC.

Lets compare the 2 teams:

Browns went 7-8-1, 1-5 SU and 3-3 ATS vs playoff teams
Titans went 9-7, 4-5 SU and 5-4 ATS vs teams that made the playoffs

Cleveland only played 3 games vs teams whoese defense ranked in the top 10 in pts allowed
Titans played 9

Browns played 5 games vs teams ranked in the bottom 5 in pts allowed
Titans played in 1

Tennessee played a tougher schedule and won 9 games and only allowed 19 pts pr game.

The only difference between the 2 teams this year is Beckham.

If the Browns lose vs the Titans in Week 1 they will start 0-2 because Greg Williams has Week 2 circled on his calendar since January. The Jets will beat Cleveland. You still buying into the hype?

Browns over Titans. Not a big fan of Mariota.Love Mayfield's confidence and the toys they've put around him.

Browns are very much set up as the team to kill half the field this year.

They’ve been hyped up a little too much and Tennessee has been shite on a little too much.
