I like how their fans immediately came back the moment they started to have success. You look at other teams who were terrible for a long time like the Reds, Indians and Pirates. Their fans didn't come back. They continued to have mediocre attendance even with good teams because all of the losing killed off an entire generation of fans. The Royals attendance jumped up immediately. Not only that, Kansas City has the highest television viewership for out of market baseball games. They had the highest television ratings for the all-star game last year and I believe their market had the highest television ratings for the World Series last year outside of Chicago and Cleveland. Isn't that the definition of a true baseball fan? They watch the games and support the sport even when their favorite team isn't playing. Kansas City has more of those people than anywhere else.

Going to second this. Red Sox have a very large passionate fan base. Atmosphere in Fenway is one the best in baseball.

Dodgers easily.
That getting there 2 or 3 innings late and leaving 2 or 3 innings early tells me they are not. I understand LA traffic is horrific but if they were the best fans in baseball they'd want to see as much of their team as possible.

I do know for sure that they all think they are. And that they know more about baseball than the rest of us.

The ones that refuse to do the wave.

Royals. They gave Miguel Cabrera a big ovation the year he won the Triple Crown, when the Tigers finished their season in Kansas City.

Where do normal people in LA work? Seems like you'd have the same issue that Houston has in that once you leave downtown it's kinda a bitch to turn around and go back for midweek games. Rockets games will almost never be packed until the second

When a free agent signs with stl, all the fans tweet him "welcome to baseball heaven."
Then a month later, they're tweeting him death threats.

Plus they have a road presence.
I honestly don't remember seeing any dodger fans at the LCS in wrigley last year

Yeah the Royals fanbase is what won me over when I lived in Missouri. Started rooting for them because they always had strong support when they sucked when I first moved there. I'm still not a huge baseball guy but proud to root for KC as my pro team.

quote:the problem is that a lot of people dont live in the actual city. almost 4 million people live in the city, but almost 20 million live in the direct surrounding areas. so a lot of people work out in the valley, or out in orange county, or whatever. so then, they have to get on the 110 to get to the stadium and the 110 is one of the first freeways ever built in this country so its not necessarily the most well equipped for the kind of traffic that its supposed to handle
Where do normal people in LA work?
all of that makes the traffic truly as awful as people say it is

there wasnt any large block of fans or whatever, but the dodgers are usually top 3, if not #1, in road attendance

You're right...they should helicopter in.
