How many games?
Brees has played in 16

If only games were played on spreadsheets
Do you think more yards, more tds, less ints, and more team points helps or hurts team success?

Brady has literally played double the number of games Brees has. That’s the opposite of a fair sample size. That’s like Barry bonds having a lower home run per ab after 100 games vs some guy who’s only played 50 and was hot out the gate.

Brady has literally played double the number of games Brees has.
That seems in line to produce a good average for both

Clearly it hurts the team, look at the win-loss records!

Thats literally the purpose of the stat lol. To account for differences in sample size (given that some minimum is met)

The best thing for the MSB would be Brady playing 10x better than Brees on Sunday but the Saints pull out the win
Would make for the best monday fodder IMHO

I am taking Joe Montana in his prime or Patrick Mahomes right now.

16 playoff games is enough dude lol.
This is what im saying. You have created a criteria where you are literally NOT ALLOWED to compare someone to Brady as no one even qualifies.
You are saying that a QB that has started the 11th most playoff games ALL TIME doesnt qualify to be able to be compared to the great TB. shite i think you would argue no one does.

quote:Not just the stats in the OP that clearly show who is better, Brady offenses in the postseason average more points, more yards, and turn the ball over less than Brees offenses.
His stats are pretty superior
Really an open shut case, right?

quote:Brees has played less games but statistically he's been every bit as good as Brady, so no, Brady hasn't at all been unequivocally better this year.
If you’re talking this year it’s Brady and it’s not close. Brees looks straight washed.

quote:in the playoffs correct. That’s the whole point Tom is in such rare air no one can compare to his playoff success. It’s the reason everyone else on the planet agrees that he is the GOAT. Only delusional Brees fans think otherwise. Stop comparing Brees to someone he cannot compare too. Brees, manning, relay, Marino, Montana all great and can battle out for no.2. But there is no debate who number 1 is.

The undisputed GOATS in sports are Jordan, Gretzky, and Brady.

the only thing the total number of playoff games tell a person (with a discerning eye) is that the AFC East has been historically terrible for Bradys entire career. Literally the minute it got formidable, he left.

quote:You are 100%, there is no QB who can ever compared to Brady's team success.
That’s the whole point Tom is in such rare air no one can compare to his playoff success.
That does not mean Brady has played the position of QB in the playoffs better than any QB ever.
Those are 2 distinctly different things.
quote:Except, not everyone does this
It’s the reason everyone else on the planet agrees that he is the GOAT.
quote:That's fine, but just know that literally the only reason you're saying this and admitting is that we can't compare the 2 solely because Brady has had better teams around him than Brees. That's a weird thing to do.
Only delusional Brees fans think otherwise. Stop comparing Brees to someone he cannot compare too
quote:You seem to think if you can keep saying this it will magically make it true. That's not how this works.
But there is no debate who number 1 is.

Do we want to consider the fact that Brees has played 10 of his 17 playoff games under a dome? While Brady has played the vast majority of his playoff games in cold weather, albeit in his home stadium?
Here are a handful of Brees' QB ratings in away "cold weather" playoff games.
83.2 @ Chicago, 2006
95.4 @ Seattle, 2010
75.7 @ Philadelphia, 2013
86.3 @ Seattle, 2013
Two of the games listed above were on the road against Super Bowl participants. The other two were on the road against teams that certainly weren't elite opponents.
At the same time, Brady has played a good number of home games against bad defenses in the playoffs.
Indoor/outdoor games are a normal split throughout every season, but I would argue they are a little more relevant when the games are being played in January.
Statistically, the numbers will always show that Brady is overvalued by the public historically, while Brees is undervalued. I agree with that part of the argument that I think OP is trying to make.
