Terrell Davis.
He did have one hell of a season, but I'm not sure that a season should make a HOF nomination.

It was 3 seasons. He had 1800+ scrimmage yards and 15+TDs each of those years. His first playoff SB run had the 2nd most post season rushing yards (his 98 season is no.4)
But you can argue his peak was too short still I suppose.

It is called the NFL HALL OF FAME, not Hall of stats!

Aikman was a great quarterback, he was accurate, tough and a great leader. He came through on the game's biggest stage including the second game against the Bills while still suffering the effects of the concussion he suffered against the Niners in the NFC championship game. He wouldn't be allowed to play in that game nowadays. Without Aikman they don't reach the Super Bowl.
Aikman played when the NFL allowed defenders to smash the qb. Imagine Brady, Brees, etc. playing in that era. Their stats would be a lot different and their careers likely shorter. Brady would have at least three less Super Bowls, lol
Saints fans down voted this!

Doesn't belong in the HOF even with the Super Bowl win.
Have you not watched the clutch catches he had in a era when he was grabbed at the line of scrimmage?!? His numbers were better than Lynn Swann and he just got into the HOF!

Youngs stats were not that much better!!! Aikman played in a offense that was run first as compared to the 49ers. Name a 49er RB compared to Smith? Totally different offenses!

You do realize he was a backup to Montana for 4 seasons and also played in the USFL for 2 seasons and still has better stats than Aikman.

And? They pretty much played in the same era.
The ONLY reason Aikman is in the HOF is because he won 3 Super Bowls. You take just one away and I don't think he's in.

I'm talking about the games they won
I concede the 81 playoff run. But the rest
83 vs Lions. 49ers D forces 5 turnovers + Lions miss 2 FGs
84 vs Giants Giants only score 10 points, 7 of then coming from a pick6 Montana threw
84 vs Bears. 49ers pitch a shutout Craig and Tyler run for >100 yards
84 vs Dolphins. Niners held the Dolphins to 16 points and Craig and Tyler combined for like 250 yards running and little throws to the flats
88 vs Vikings.. Niners D held them to 9 points. Craig and Rathman combine for about 200 total yards
88 vs Bears. Niners D held them to 3 points. Craig and Rathman go for about 200 again
88 vs Bengals. I admit they needed a good performance by Montana
89 vs Vikings. Niners D force 4 turnovers and held them to 13. Craig and Rathman go for about 200. Plus a 5 yards pass to Rice that he turned in to a 72 yard TD
89 vs Rams. Niners D holds them to 3. Rathman and Craig go for almost 300 yards
89 vs Broncos. Niners D held them to 10 points and do3rce 4 turnovers. Craig and Rathman go for 200.
90 vs Redskins. Niners D scored 7 and held the Vikings to 10
Outside the 88 superbowl these were pretty much impossible to lose for any QB. Steve Deberg wins all these games(except for 88 superbowl).

He got his two Super Bowls, retired early like Sayers (in terms of talent he was no Gayle Sayers).
What nobody talks about is his backups and replacements basically did the same thing under Shannahan's system.
The Broncos just plugged in other running backs. Did he have a great seasons, sure. Was he he productive, sure for a few years. But his pedestrian successors had success they never had elsewhere and never had again. In short, TD wasn't special. Good for him, but he's the poster-child in the modern era of letting everyone in.

You take away just one of Aikman's Super Bowls and he's probably not even in.
Disagree.
Aikman wasn’t the best of his era by any stretch but he was all pro level at the same time as Steve Young, Brett Favre, Marino, Elway, Moon, Kelly, etc.
And he has more SBs than everybody on that list except Young.
The only QB worse than him with at least 2 rings is Eli and there’s a reason you think of him in this category before Aikman.

All pro level? When? He only threw 20+ touchdowns once in his career. Three of his Pro Bowls, his TD-INT were
11-10
13-12
12-13
Which goes to show you the Pro Bowl is nothing but a glorified popularity contest.
Now, I will admit, he was a great leader, tough as nails and got the job done when needed.
I still don't think he gets in with only two Super Bowls. Definitely not first ballot like he did. Maybe because the Cowboys were super popular and the whole "America's Team" thing, but you're delusional if you think he gets in with zero Super Bowls.

I believe he's the only person enshrined in the Hall of Fame without an All-Pro selection.
