Which player made the biggest mistake by declaring early for the NFL draft this year?

You have some like Dare Rosenthal, Christopher Allen, and Justyn Ross who didn’t even get drafted.
But which drafted player made the biggest mistake by declaring early? Who would have been drafted higher with another under their belt?

Justyn Ross had some medical condition that got him blacklisted by every team

Ross has a spine issue and is likely to retire from football.

From my own team Jashaun Corbin completely fricked up. He looked like he was figuring it out last year, looked explosive, and would have been poised to have a breakout year in 2022. Instead he declared 2 years early and went undrafted

Allen wouldn’t have been the starter at Bama with Dallas Turner and Will Anderson on the edges and given his multiple injuries he probably figured it was time to get on with it.

I lost track of Rosenthal at Kentucky. Maybe he was a role model in Lexington.
However, he redshirted his freshman season, so he’d already been in college for 4 years. During that time he missed multiple games due to suspension and injury.
Players with his track record often don’t have a choice. It’s now or never.

Carson Strong
Same as Justyn Ross, Strong had a serious injury that prevented him from being drafted. If he was healthy he would’ve easily been a day 2 pick.

Yeah but he doesn't want to. The kid should be able to sign a waiver or something that allows him to continue at his own risk. He's the most talented receiver in this class and deserves a shot to prove it.

Did Allen make a mistake?
He is what he is. Talent that can’t stay healthy. Might as well get in the league.

Delvin Breaux was able to do it for the Saints after not being cleared by LSU’s doctors. Funny enough, it was also a neck injury- same as Ross.
If you can play and want to possibly maim yourself for life, the NFL has no problem letting you do so provided the right paperwork is signed.

I’m gonna put Jalen Wydermyer up there as well.
Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered if he waited til next year with his combine numbers, but he had such a promising start to his career.
(Also, it’s hilarious he was a Mackey Award finalist over Brock Bowers last season)

From all accounts he kept his shite together at UK and they would’ve liked him to have come back. Ended up getting some talent out of portal to replace him though.

Yup. A lot of these guys are barley hanging on from an eligibility perspective. Sometimes it’s better to bounce than come back another year and possibly get tagged as having character issues.

Is it a liability issue or do teams just not think he will ever be able to play? He missed a lot of time after his freshman year.

Interesting how Dabo cleared him to play but not a single nfl team will.

He went pro? Does he still play baseball?

Kennedy Brooks OU. He sat out 2020 for Covid. One more year and his stock goes up. Signed as UDFA with Philly and they got a steal. In 3 active seasons never fumbled and was over 1k all 3 years.
