croom needs to stop being so loyal to an offense that doesn't really work in college (west coast offense)

MSU needs some option in their life

1) Mike Stoops-i think it depends on how the season goes for him, would be snatched up as a DC quickly

I agree with what you posted, but Arizona is 3-1 and with their win over UCLA are in 1st placein the Pac-1.

They have Washington, @Stanford, and Cal the next 3 games.

6) Al Groh-I think he has done a good job for that type of school
Possible replacements: derek dooley

Al Groh should be gone, but his contract buyout is huge due to haphazard extensions. And when you say "good job for that type of school", I would tend to disagree. I am assuming you're talking of the academic rigors, and I would argue that many other schools similar to UVA (Cal, Michigan, WF, Vanderbilt) have done much better with their situation.

As for possible replacements, right on the head with Dooley (from UVA) as well Grobe (a UVA alum). I don't think Grobe would want to come here, but his name is being thrown out a lot around here.

I am guessing he is talking about UVA's history. UVA has won 7 bowl games, Groh has been their coach for 3 of them. He has been the ACC coach of the year twice, including last year.

Let's just say comparing to the Welsh days when we were, at one point, ranked #1 in the 1990 (and the previous year, had a 10 win season and ACC championship). Groh = Continental Tire Bowl

Comparing to Welsh days you have your coach! Welsh failed to win 8 games in 4 of his last 5 years at Virginia.

you want 1990? you finished 8-4! And that was before Fla. State and Miami joined the conference. UVA is and after thought in the ACC and that says it all.

i meant academic and i think vandy and maybe cal would be the only schools you mentioned close to UVA, michigan is a top school but make exceptions for football, i mean the vandys, rice, stanford, northwesterns. I think groh does a solid job of recruiting and is a good coach but UVA fans and the "experts" seem to want him gone.

UVA pulls some strings like USC, Michigan and Cal do and it's hurt them lately with guys failing academically at such a tough school

Anyone remember when Saban left or was thinking about leaving everyone wanted Kirk Ferentz? Thank God we have no say-so.

Why would Croom be gone?

Fulmer just signed a 6 year extension

village idiots took croom at his word to give him 3 years and State would be a contender. last year was that. fans started the season with big hopes, which have been crushed. plus, the humiliation of losing to latech and bama being good. there's a lot of rumbling about de-crooming.

question is, who'd want the job?
