Baseball requires the most skill and those dudes are monster athletes. Tons of these guys were high school football all Americans. That includes guys from multiple positions including pitchers. Ask Michael Jordan which sport is more difficult?

Most skill? Sure. I think hitting a baseball might be the most difficult thing to do in sports. Athleticism? sorry. There are a lot of baseball players who aren't just out of shape when compared to other professional athletes, but compared to the general public as a whole. There are some giant individuals in the NFL and NBA who have unbelievable athleticism. Not so much in the MLB. It doesn't take a ton of athleticism to be a great baseball player. It takes a ton of skill.

That's not athleticism. That's who can play the most number of different games the best.

Athleticism is how well someone's body can perform physical tasks. How fast they can run, how high they can jump, lateral quickness, body control, etc.

It doesn't matter if you are good at both baseball and Frisbee golf.

Football I think of some of the big lineman.

A lot of those lineman are freak athletes

Look at Armstead.

Weighs 300+ pounds, ran a 4.7 and had a 34.5 inch vertical

As always, this comes down to ones definition of "athletic"

I know plenty of athletic people who have high body fat and know plenty of in shape people who cant dribble a basketball to save their life

Hand eye coordination has to be in there. I know a few guys who are unreal skiers on both snow and water, but they are useless at anything with a ball. They are definitely great athletes, but I wouldn't call them the best athletes.

Depends on what you are measuring. Strength, Hibbert wins.

Athleticism also matters depending on size. A 7 footer will never be as spry as a little guy. But the combination of size and speed is what makes those guys very athletic.

Dribbling a basketball has nothing to do with athleticism. That's coordination.

That's like saying somebody is athletic because they can play the guitar or the drums.

So are we saying athleticism is strictly measurements? what if you cant jump for shite but can drain 3's all day? Running a 5.1 but can drill 450 foot homers? Theres always 2 ways to look at it

I don't think anyone considers dribbling to equal athleticism

Or draining 3's

Y'all are moving the shite out of the goalpost. I started by saying who would be the best at most sports. Then y'all wanted it to be who is quicker, faster, jump higher etc. Well after that now apparently size matters too?

Athleticism has to do with raw physical gifts.

Power, speed, agility, explosiveness, strength, quickness, etc.

Some people possess different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to athleticism and it depends on what you value for your sport or position.

A defensive end is athletic in a different way from a running back.

But just because you learned to drain 3's through repetitive practice doesn't mean you are athletic.

I'm answering the topic. You made up your own criteria which has nothing to do with the topic.

And then I used your criteria I and the answer stayed the same

Some of you guys don't realize how good of an athlete most pitchers are. It usually takes a hell of an athlete to throw over 90 mph.

No it didn't. Roy Hibbert is athletic in a different way than a soccer player.

Let me go invent a bunch of sports where height and size and strength are important factors and let's see how a soccer player fares.
