Didn't Kevin Durant only start playing basketball in high school?

You wait until HS to start playing basketball and you can forget about it

Baseball and I don't think it is even close.

You have to pick these sports as you only sport at about age 10 and train like mad men to have a chance. Where as a great number of pro football and basketball players grew up splitting their time between multiple sports

Terrence Cody is only one player, plus I think you are underestimating how athletic he is for his size.

Didn't say anything about athleticism/lb.

I think football.
Followed by baseball.
Then basketball.
Then hockey.
Then soccer.

If you are taller than 7' you have a 17% chance of playing in the NBA. Thats a true statistic.

Baseball requires the most skill and those dudes are monster athletes. Tons of these guys were high school football all Americans. That includes guys from multiple positions including pitchers. Ask Michael Jordan which sport is more difficult?
If athleticism is based on raw jumping and speed than this may be different. However, my definition of athleticism includes control of your abilities.
Hockey has to be last, but how do you even compare that?

Wasn't the #1 pick in the NHL draft unable to do a single pull up?

I notice that Hockey is getting a pretty big pass here.
I'm not saying hockey players aren't athletes, or that they don't have some of the best hand-eye coordination (and one of the highest minimum thresholds for it) in sports. They're also some of the toughest people you'd ever see in sports.
That said, they are not incredible athletes on the whole; there are some good athletes in hockey-- but consider how long the average ice shift is, and how long the transcendent figures in their sport are able to play at a very high level.
While you see long careers in football, basketball, and baseball, the onsets of decline are rapid, and when a guy 'loses a step' or 'a foot off of his fastball', they are less prone to being able to hang around in their respective leagues, because the athletic demands are higher. The weak link is purged faster.
I love hockey, but I can't pretend they're superior athletes.
