Matt is God awful at interviews, he tries wayyyyy too hard to buddy up to them. If its an ex athlete he goes into super jock sniffing mode, its sad.
Matt also for whatever reason equates being loud with funny. I've had to tune out during this josh smith stuff. Its obnoxious. I get its a bit but its a terrible one.
Hester is good during football season but pretty blah outside of that. Do I really need a weekly hour with Dan Canevari?

Did you forget about last year's Dick Vitale interview? I hate that he wouldn't let Jordy get a word in.
Also, I can't begin to tell you how much I hate when Matt does that high-pitched, whiney scream. If I'm leaving work at 5:00, I don't want to hear someone else scream. I immediately turn it off.
That said, the best is Sports Today. It's old school. Hanagriff and Ott...come on, you can't beat that lineup.

In terms of ratings and revenue generation, AFR crushes OTB (and OTB is a successful show by all objective measures).

Well no shite, it's the afternoon drive home radio show in a town where college football is a perennial powerhouse and baseball may be just as popular pound for pound with zero other options other than SiriusXM...the point I was trying to make with this thread is the 2 shows really should switch time slots. Matt is exhausting as shite with his inside jokes and letting you know every 5 minutes he texts with Ryan Clark and Ryan Theriot...who by the way could probably give 2 shits during duck and deer season(Matt hates guns and hunting, so this is a weird pairing especially with Bowies as an advertiser)

Ott was lazy back in the day...not even sure what you'd describe him as now. He basically gets paid to show up, eat lunch, and half assedly contribute to the show when he can. I laughed yesterday when he said he's going on vacation. Vacation from what? You barely work 2 hours a day

Ott is awful. He doesn’t listen, asks Hanny to repeat what he just said 5 seconds ago, then repeats what Hanny said 5 seconds ago. If not doing that, it’s “uh, I mean, it’s just, but, uh, well, anyway.” Goes off on a tangent, then hollers at Hanny for not following a train of thought nobody else can follow. Ott is bad radio most of the time. Hanny is the best in town if you want logical, sensible analysis that is usually really fair.
The rest of the shows on 104.5 are more bad than good and are not worth the listen. T-Bob and Moscona are so obnoxious that it drowns out any good analysis they might have. Culotta would probably be OK without T-Bob.
Overall, BR sports talk radio sucks, but it’s been that way for years. At least Buddy Songy is not on 104.5 interviewing the Olinde’s store manager for 20 minutes at a time.
ETA: Josh Innes should not be allowed within sight of a radio station ever again.

Don't Ott and Hanny buy their airtime? Not really apples to apples...Ott is riding sports knowledge from 25 years ago, you can tell he rolls out of bed and wings it.

They did in the old days. I think Hanny is essentially a station employee. I think Ott is, too, but Ott probably has to do sales for earn his keep.

Well let’s see , Culotta and his butt buddy Ponamsky got Orgeron the job with their early propaganda (obviously O has proved people wrong but on paper it was a dog shite hire) and Moscona roasted the hire and continued to roast Orgeron after his loss to Troy.
So you tell me why O doesn’t go on Matt’s show ? As for other guests, Matt has daily people. And as dumb as Mike Detiller is, he is the only segment I really like on that show. Now the Theriot show on Friday is cringeworthy. Both shows kind of suck. T Bob is a moron.
In the dead days of summer, the best show is Ott and Hanny. I’d rather listen to Ott obsess over betting tennis mixed doubles to satisfy his gambling itch than the regular offseason dribble of the other shows.
