Not part of the question. HOWEVER, I will cut U some slack because it reminds us the other game ending play in the BIG HOUSE: the Cordell Stewart hail mary td pass.

Ok, well, I think MSU's chance to win in regulation there was infinitely higher than auburns chance to win in regulation. And both of those are what happened.
I doubt the likelihood of each play occurring was THAT different; they were both extremely unlikely. In fact, since there was a fair chance that the kick would be short, and lineman on a FG team not well equipped to stop a return, I wouldn't be surprised if the kick six was slightly more likely.

That said, you could look at it as MSU had a 0.2% chance of winning, unless that play happened, whereas Auburn had something like a 25%-35% chance of winning, even if that play didn't happen.

While the Kick Six was a crazy play I wouldn't call it "stunning". The possibility of a return was clear, especially with such a long kick and Griffith as a freshman. In terms of implications, though, the Kick Six definitely wins.

The kick 6 was like "holy shite what an amazing play by auburn"

The play on Saturday was more like "holy shite lol michigan sucks"

They could have returned the punt for a TD, or the punter could have shanked it out of bounds with time on the clock, or it could have actually been blocked...

So no.

Well I meant the that they had to score on that play, and the only other plausible scenario was a block, which is not much different than what did happen.

They didn't have anybody back for a return, and even a shanked punt could have run off the clock and/or put them out of a reasonable Hail Mary range.

What is Kick 6? I don't think the Iron Bowl happened that year.

Stunning? Michigan-MSU by far. Anyone who's played NCAA knows that it can happen even if it doesn't happen often in real life. And the game was headed to overtime.

Botching the snap and it falling directly into an MSU player's hands, to be returned for a TD as time expired? Downright impossible.

Kick 6 easily. It was such a bigger moment too. Blocked punts happen fairly regularly though. Still can't believe they even decided to punt there.

What would you have suggested happen? Take a knee only up 2 with 10 seconds left?

I'd say it's far more likely to have MSU run an out route for 15 yards and kick a FG to win

Kick 6 for sure.

It's probably the greatest play in history when you consider all of the factors: implications, likelihood, etc.

Even in the event of the kick being brought out (likely), I don't think anyone would have thought it would come all the way back. Total stunner. I think if you polled everybody in the country right before that kick, they would say it will either be good or it will be a miss and Bama will win it in OT.

The kick 6 because the play itself is so rare.

Coming from someone who was in that stadium on that fateful November night I would have to say that the Michigan loss was much worse. Finally had the chance to beat your rival for the first time in years and you yourself shite the bed in the final seconds. At least when Davis ran the kick back I had time to gauge what the frick was taking place in front of me before the end of the game. Those Michigan fans had no such luck. Unlike us, they actually saw defeat in the jaws of victory.

Kick 6

Saban with the timeout fighting for 1 second and the FG returned for 100 plus yards are you kidding me? I really think the Mich game was great too because it was over / won but the greatest gift happened and State won on a fumbled snap?

Both plays are amazing but with what was at stake Kick 6

Game had much larger implications. Also, a kick six for a win! That game was awesome!

The thing that takes the shine off the MSU-Mich play was how badly Michigan screwed up on that scheme wise. You watch the skycam replay and they had 4-5 guys rushing downfield to field a punt when MSU was rushing 11 guys with no returner! At that point there was a much higher chance of something going horribly wrong. You combine that with the fact that MSU was kicking their arse all 4th quarter but coming up just short (137-30 in yardage and 1 first down for UM) and the Auburn play was much more stunning for me. I have never seen a field goal returned like that.

I think mostly because it was against Saban and you just don't see that very often. At all.

While it's not really common, it's more common to see a blocked punt turned into a score (even though you rarely see it with that game timing).
