I know Peyton Manning is listed at 6' 5, but I have heard commentators say that he is actually closer to 6' 7.

So Eli is 6'8"? Eli is definitely taller than Peyton.

Peyton is 6'5". I've met him before and he for sure isn't 6'7". I'd say he's closer to 6'4" than 6'5", but I didn't have a tape measure.

yeah, they usually exaggerate height rather than understate it in sports.

I think that Ponder will be a good NFL QB. He reminds me of a more athletic Kannel maybe just doesnt have the Running Backs around him to be successful there right now.

This is true. They said he wanted to be thought of as more mobile, so he has his listed height shorter than it really is.

Its such a tough call on NFL QB's. There is no other position that is as hard to predict. Who thought that Brees, Brady, Montana, Farve etc would be great coming out of college. The Mannings were the closest to sure things and the jury was out on Eli for a long time.

Then there are the high pick busts, Akili Smith, Vince Young, Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus and many more.

Right now I like Mallett and Clausen and maybe McCoy but who really knows.

its a huge gamble taking a QB high, could either turn around your team or set you back a few years. its amazing how many of the good ones you just mentioned like brees, brady, montana, favre, werent even high draft picks. you can find a good one later in the drafts as there is less pressure on those guys.

Colt's accuracy is ridiculous. I'd take him over any other QB in college right now. Plus he lead Texas in rushing last year. Kid's a beast.

But the same with Bradford, Tebow, Hall, and others is McCoy success due to the surrounding parts? Or is he the person that makes the surrounding people better?

1. Mallet (the next Flacco)
2. Clausen (the next Brees)
3. Locker (the next Sanchez)

Locker and Sanchez are basically polar opposites in terms of skills

I don't think they are polar opposites. There are similarities. Will be coming from the same system, have a similar build, both are pretty athletic and mobile (Locker moreso than Sanchez). Locker seems to have the Quinn build. Big strong guy who can move. I think Locker is a better prospect than Quinn though.

Who do you think Locker compares to?

Locker is very fast and has a massive arm but struggles with some touch passes still. Sanchez is mobile, but not a runner, has an average arm, but great touch and accuracy.

It's hard to compare Locker to someone in the league right now. Maybe Carson Palmer in terms of having a huge arm and very mobile, but obviously not polished
