Lebron, PFFT , don't even put anyone in the, carry the ball, take three steps, era in the list. He would have been Scotty Pippen level at best without all the new bullshite rules.

and some bad meltdowns in the playoffs
Did you ever watch Larry Bird? He had some BAD playoffs/series/finals.
To claim that is a fault of Lebron but not Larry brings into question if you actually followed Bird's career close enough to actually make this judgement?

Yep, Bird is my favorite player of all time, but he had a poor 1985 Finals and his performance against the Pistons in 88 was really really bad too.

Even Bird pre NBA, took little mid major Indiana State Sycamores to a 33-1 record in the 78-79 season.
Losing to Magic Johnson's Michigan State team in the National Championship final.
Indiana State hasn't been ranked in the top 25 since Bird left in 79.

Go ahead and believe this

Yep, and 80-83 Bird basically played worse across the board throughout the playoffs and/or finals and mostly hovered around the low 40's percentage wise, 46ish TS%. Got abused by guys like Dr J in 80. Most of his counting stats dipped and was outplayed by his own teammates in their 81 title series.
84 and 86 were incredible post season runs, like some of the best performances in history, 87 incredibly admirable as well.
Bird has some major post season ups and downs. There were times his teams had to carry him, and at times when he looked like the clear best player in the league. Times he crapped the bed, and times he came through in BIG ways.

Difference between bad playoffs/series/finals and meltdowns where a player looks like a bum or scared of the moment

3rd or 4th, depending on how you want to weigh it.
Jordan, Bill Russell are the top. Then Kareem and Larry. Magic, Duncan, Wilt, and LeBron are the next group; Moses, Shaq, Haquim, Stockton, and Kobe are the 3rd tier.
Within each tier, how you want to stack is mostly quibbling about what matters more-- numbers, longevity, pioneering in the game, or titles.

He was slow and about as nonathletic as a shooter gets. But he was skilled and intuitive and he rode that horse as far as he could. Health was never his friend and cut his career far, far, too short.
Just not a top 10 player in a league that had so many freaky great players.

I’ll take peak Larry bird on any iteration of an all time starting top 5 and feel great about it.

1)MJ
2/3) Bird and Lebron
2/3) Bird and Lebron

I'd like the morons in this thread ranking Kobe top 10 all-time to justify that position. Is he top 10 in VORP/BPM/or any of the win share statistics?

I mean Lebron got to the line more and made more per game, Bird a higher percentage.
So if Bird made a higher percentage, would it not stand to reason that he is the better free throw shooter?

But remember when I listed for you EFG% and TS% and you handwaved it as "boom" or something?
I said "Boom" because you pulled bullshite stats that only analytic dweebs care about. Aka, the poster Boomshockalacka. Nobody gaf about his EFG% or TS%

How is playing the game and scoring more efficiently a negative exactly?
Well wait a minute, I thought that the 3 point is the most efficient way to play the game nowadays? If Bird has a much higher 3 point percentage, would that not stand to reason that he was a more efficient ball player?

If I was starting a team and could have Bird or Lebron I would take Bird..and would beat whoever took Lebron

I'm increasingly getting the impression you are a moron....
Larry Bird averaged .7 3PM per game. I would love an explanation for how you have contorted yourself into thinking that because Larry Bird managed a slightly higher percentage on one type of shot he made less than once per game, that somehow makes him an overall more efficient player than the guy who in basically every aggregate statistical category for scoring, was superior?
