Think La Tech’s historical treatment of their mascots has beautifully positioned the program to receive an invite from the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas conference.

First thing that came to mind was the mascots beating the shite out if each other at the football games

I saw Tech XXII yesterday. They don't even let him walk. He rides in an electric blue car. A handler with a remote control does the driving for him.

If you were in the 13-17 range odds are we know each other pretty well (and someone else that’s been posting in this thread)

I still care. Pisses me off every time I see or hear them call themselves UL. And seriously makes me furious with the leaders of ULM. Seeing what followed Vines just makes me sick at my stomach. When I was there, Tech and NLU were pretty much equal.

It was a mutual agreement between then NLU and USL. We sponsored/guaranteed your admittance into the SBC saving your program. In return an agreement was in place for the name change. Mutually beneficial.

Now I get that it really divided your fan base. Especially those who were NLU graduates. But, to be fair, we were transparent. I’ll also say this, ULM as a brand is 1000% better than NLU.

SBC>Indy
ULM>NLU
Warhawks>Indians

So……You’re welcome!

Hot damn, the Ragin Pagin Cajun fans have been relentless lately..
Everyone knows the true unfortunate story here with our last mascot , but y’all continue to perpetuate a lie that it was somehow the university’s fault. Why is that?

Ok…my apologies! I forgot that I’m obviously dealing w/ a mental midget here. So, how exactly did Tech kill their mascot?

Won Men's CC in 2004. I believe that is the last time a Cajuns CC or T&F team has won a conference championship, which is sad considering what Coaches Cole & Lancon built over there.

Of course, the late 90s to early 2000s is when Martin Hall made its final hard push to kill competitive athletics at the university. They damn near succeeded too.

Yeah, twice, numbers 19 & 20.

Honestly I think if LaMaison hadn’t left y’all probably could’ve won a title in 15 or 16. She was building a pretty solid distance squad.

There was someone who interviewed to fill her position that would have kept the progress. Knew exactly what he was doing.

Head coach decided on someone else, and the best distance guys found themselves regressing or on the injury shelf shortly after.
