Where can one find resources to learn about football defenses?

I have a really basic understanding of what the different positions do and what base defense designations like 4-3 and 3-3-5 mean. I've never played organized football at any level. I am ignorant as to what the fundamental philosophy differences between different defensive styles is, and what types of players are most important at each position depending on scheme. I'd really like to remedy that ignorance. I no-kidding read a little bit from the website for Football for Dummies to try to help
Does anybody have useful resources to learn these types of things? I have been Googling and found some apparently useful references (like the Football for Dummies one), but I'm at the stage where I'm too ignorant to know what's junk and what's not.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Profootballfocus used to do a series called "the prototypes" where they would take certain players and explain why they were prototypes at that position.

I think the coaches film room that ESPN airs during college football playoff games have been very eye opening

There’s a book by Bill Arnsparger that is really in depth.
You can probably find playbooks online if you look in the right place. Coaches choice has a bunch of stuff also. Go to their website. Also, if you type “4-2-5 defense” into eBay you may find some people selling install videos and stuff

There’s actually a multi-hour video of Nick Saban breaking down his defense for a coaches clinic on YouTube. Back from his Michigan St days. You can learn a lot from it.

I mean, I coached HS football for 12 years. We ran a base 4-3 and ran a variety of zone and man schemes depending on the opponent. If you’re not experienced in playing or terminology, just reading about it is not really going to benefit you.

I would suggest finding some high school clinics on youtube. Either the Nike clinics or the Glazier clinics. There is actually a book called Football For Dummies that you can purchase that would be very helpful.

Probably the quickest way for someone who is under 30 to learn

That seems to have very little return.
