the only thing that will save MLB, the country's most boring dying sport, is for them to get rid of 8 teams and to make the season 2 months long and to enforce the DH rule in the National League.

I am in favor of aluminum bats and the pitchers moving 20 feet closer to the plate.

All wild pitches must result in all out brawls with bats and other equipment.

and don't forget that batters should be alloted no longer than a 0.4 second break in between pitches because goddamn they take up way too much time adjusting their wrist bands and kissing their necklaces. although once we reduce each game to 4 innings things will go faster.

yeah makes sense. any bro with eye black and a flat bill at a mini-golf batting cage can probably hit better than most MLB hitters anyways.

the average MLB game is about half an hour shorter than the average NFL game.

MLB should contract, not expand.

Las Vegas?
Ain't gonna be a major pro sport team in Las Vegas. It's just not gonna happen. Leagues are afraid of it, probably rightly so.

What markets could support new teams? Las Vegas forget. Move Miami and Tampa first before expansion.

too many teams in baseball and football in my opinion. that is why you get such crappy rosters, not enough good Qbs and good Pitchers to go around

Baseball doesn't need to expand, and I'm not sure if there are any US markets out there that could support a team. MLB is definitely the hardest sport to support. With 81 home games you need a lot of people in the seats and a lot of corporate sponsorship.

I think Las Vegas is the closest to ready, but the gambling issue is an obvious impediment. IMO Portland and Charlotte are probably the next most likely, but they aren't ready. I am intrigued by the idea of a team in Mexico City. The pro leagues have had teams in Canadian cities for decades, perhaps it is time to try one with our neighbors to the South.

If that happens I think the best bet would be to relocate Tampa. In general I'm not a fan of relocation, but that franchise has just never really clicked. I would say the same thing about Miami but they just built a new ballpark.

No reason why baseball shouldn't be successful in South Florida. But baseball wont expand until the quality of the game improves.

Bud Selig retiring will be great for the game, so long as the next commish is focused on improving the quality of the game.

#1: Institute a real salary cap. #2: Require owners to spend a certain % of that salary cap, ala NFL. Its absurd that Alex Rodriguez can have a higher salary than the entire Houston Astros roster. The Luxury tax is one of the biggest jokes in modern professional sports and does nothing to deter the isolation of talent to a few select teams.

I think MLB needs to expand in the Southeast. If they had 2-3 more teams in the AL, MS, LA, TN, Arky area, that would est an awesome southern division. Sure the population is lower, but there is some hardcore baseball fans in the south.
