I'd say Puerto Rico should be in the discussion. And even with the embargo, Cuba is more likely than Mexico City.

Mexico City is too dangerous for the families of the players. They'd never get anyone to play there for the long term. Though the K&R insurance business would go through the roof.

Vegas is not feasible, and it has nothing to do with gambling. Well it does, but not for gambling on games. Their attendance would be worse than the Marlins.

Portland could be good. Vancouver also potentially. San Antonio maybe, but that's a lot of teams in Texas. Same with Austin, but I don't think Austin would do all that well.

Charlotte would be intriguing.

I think MLB needs to expand in the Southeast. If they had 2-3 more teams in the AL, MS, LA, TN, Arky area, that would est an awesome southern division

Would love to see it, but we see what atlanta does with attendence and that'll be more than enough to scare anyone away.

No. Why do you want a salary cap, so the Yankess can't overpay for vets who are terrible towards the end of their contracts.

The smaller market teams have combatted this a number of ways, foremost being locking up their young talent to long term team friendly deals early in their careers.

Salary Caps and non guaranteed contracts are stupid.

He said salary cap, but then talked about the need for a salary floor, which I would be in favor of.

I agree about not wanting a salary cap. If teams want to make poor contract decisions, that's up to them. But I don't like teams having payrolls below what the revenue sharing is just collecting money from other franchise without putting a viable product on the field.

That is a whole different ball game and I could be in favor of that. Teams should not be restricted on what they spend. And most teams are cyclical in their spending including the Marlins. They just tear it down in such a horrendous way every time. Loria is quite possibly the worst owner in professional sports.

That's because our stadium is in the hood. If it was located in NW Atlanta, you know more people would go.

This.

It'll also up the talent level in MLB due to having 28 instead of 30 teams.

I think Las Vegas is the closest to ready, but the gambling issue is an obvious impediment. IMO Portland and Charlotte are probably the next most likely, but they aren't ready. I am intrigued by the idea of a team in Mexico City. The pro leagues have had teams in Canadian cities for decades, perhaps it is time to try one with our neighbors to the South.

If that happens I think the best bet would be to relocate Tampa. In general I'm not a fan of relocation, but that franchise has just never really clicked. I would say the same thing about Miami but they just built a new ballpark.

No. San Antonio or a 3rd NYC team is the best bet for supporting an MLB franchise. Portland has too many hipsters and not a very large metro area population. Charlotte is just way too small IMO, though it is growing.

or they could build a stadium and do it right in Montreal, or go to Vancouver
