When is Ichiro Suzuki going to learn English?

I'm sick of seeing this guy use a translator to speak for him. He's been playing baseball in the U.S. for almost 30% of his life. I just think it's pathetic. He must have lived a very isolated life in Seattle since only 1% of the population is Japanese.

I've seen videos of him doing some interviews in English, but I don't think he's comfortable speaking it in front of large crowds.

Plus he can speak English, but in any sort of "official" setting it is probably best he has a translator.

It is very difficult to learn a new language as an adult. Maybe he also is totally indifferent about learning English.
Also, his English may be poor and he may be embarrassed to give an interview with horrible grammar and pronounciation.

He knows it but uses a translator to avoid many more interviews that he would have to do if he didn't use the translator.

So we can only hold an opinion on something if it impacts our life? Granted, I agree that there's no reason to be angry over his lack of proper English, being of the mindset to only discuss situations that impact your life would limit us to very little talk at all.

He probably knows the language perfectly...just chooses to not speak it.
