I like Miami at -3.5.
That Miami D needs to show up like it did against OSU.

Ohio State had the No. 1 total and scoring defense.
Miami certainly has a good defense. But this will be the best offense they have played all season. An offense that gained nearly 500 yards and scored 39 points against a solid Georgia defense (at least in their prior 6 games or so). This arguably won't be the best defense Ole Miss has faced. In 3 games vs. Oklahoma and Georgia, all away from home, OM has averaged ~36 ppg.
I don't think Ole Miss is going to score nearly 40 vs Miami. But I don't think Miami is going to hold OM under 14 points like they've done vs. A&M and OSU. From an offensive standpoint Miami's offense is trending in the wrong direction. They scored 10 vs. A&M and 17 vs. OSU. It feels like they will need to score at least 25+ to win.
I don't want to pick them, but I think Ole Miss rolls on. At some point you can't ignore 13-1 in the SEC because of the name on the side of the helmet.

This OM team reminds me a little of those Deshaun Watson Clemson teams.
I think they’ll have to work a lot harder, but I think at the college level when elite offense meets elite defense, I lean towards the offense.
The OM defense is likewise, probably equal to the Miami offense.
Miami has more future NFL players but I think Chambliss is the equalizer

It’ll be a lot closer than people think.
The spread is 3.5. Most people are expecting a close game.

A bunch of people in this thread apparently trust Carson Beck all of a sudden. I certainly don’t, and I think their offense is too dependent on the freshman Malachi Toney.
Miami’s edge rushers are elite, but I still think Ole Miss hangs enough points to win.

Indiana should be playing Miami and Oregon should be playing Ole Miss.
Reseed the Final Four to avoid a weak side of the Bracket and a no-rematch Clause until the Title game if feasible...hurt Oregon last year as a #1 and now it hurts Indiana.

Or maybe Miami’s defense

I don’t trust Beck or Cristobal
But Miami has been able to run the ball and play nasty defense so far. Why won’t it continue?
They have the most NFL talent of the remaining 4 teams too

Miami is due to choke. They always do. It will happen now that their guard is down.

Ole Miss and the under.
Chambliss gets the ball out quick, lacy is an exceptional running back and it’s only a matter of time before Beck pisses down his leg.

My thoughts
1. Miami has a good defense but A&M and Ohio State had total of 5 turnovers I think it was. Ole Miss has played GA twice and Oklahoma who are the 7th and 14th ranked total defenses. Miami is 10th. Ole Miss had 431 yards, 351 and 473 yards. Oklahoma and GA gave up 17 and 16 points per game and OM scored 43, 34, and 39 on them.
2. Miami was outgained the last two games, Beck threw for just 103 and 138. They gave up 287 passing to OSU and over 325 yards in both games. A&M had almost double the first downs I think.
3. Miami's average yards per pass was just at 5 yards those last two games. Ole Miss was 8 against GA and over 9 for the year.
So while the strong Miami D seems to be the main narrative, I'm shocked more people aren't asking if Carson Beck can score enough points either.
Edited to add that I am biased because I bet Miami once this year and it was the Louisville game where Carson Beck completed more balls to the other team that his so I haven't forgot that game.

Public will be heavy on Miami, which usually means Ole Miss will be the play.
Posted on 1/6/26 at 4:00 pm to JasonDBlaha
Ole Miss is a lock. I think they will win it all. I say that because I think Oregon is going to beat Indiana. I believe the Hoosiers are the best team left, but its so hard beating the same team twice. Only way Rebels don't win it all is if Indiana beats Oregon.

It just got tougher. Oregon just lost its biggest back who leads the team in rushing TD’s.

Surprisingly public is not too heavy on Miami, they are heavier on Indiana.

“Make him suffer” LSU is paying Kiffin for Ole Miss playoff wins lol

Heart says DA U but this is a classic game that Cristobal and Beck love to lose
