PG: Magic. The greatest passer of all-time. Elite athleticism. Could play and guard 1-5.

SG: Jordan. GOAT 1.a. Greatest guard to ever play on both ends of the court. Ruthless. Beautiful to watch, nobody in modern times has played with as much flair as MJ. Seemed genuinely unbeatable during this peak.

SF: LeBron. GOAT 1.b. The best all-around player to ever dribble a ball. Elite passing, flashes of Magic. Elite defense in his prime, and could guard 1-5. Maybe the best slasher of all-time and a serviceable shooter, especially in his Miami days. Sees the game like few ever have, moves like a gazelle with the force of a freight train. Says woke shite on Twitter so MSB has to pretend like he isn’t a once in a generation talent.

PF: Duncan. The greatest Power Forward of all-time. Maybe the most underrated player of all-time as well, because he lived up to his name and played fundamental basketball and had a quiet persona. In my opinion, the best winner in the modern era of the NBA. Unlike Jordan, he elevated his teams and kept ego out of it. Unlike LeBron, he didn’t have growing pains early on before he started winning chips.

C: Shaq. The most dominant ever. The NBA scrapped its ban on zone defenses to prevent Shaq from destroying basketball. Teams resorted to fouling him and giving him free stabs at the free throw line to stop his dominance in the paint. Youngins here just know him as an old fat guy and don’t understand what they missed. And get out of here with these Bill Russell, Wilt, or Kareem arguments. Shaq had 50-100 pounds on those cats and possessed shocking athleticism to boot.

its mostly because he sucks in clutch time, that's not even debatable. He can score like crazy until it matters

There was literally nothing anyone could do to stop him except foul him and hope he misses free throws.
Sounds like Jokic but Jokic doesn't have that weakness.

The most Shaq has ever averaged in a postseason is 30.7ppg, Jokic hit 31ppg last postseason.

The best TS% Shaq ever had in a postseason was .604. Jokic has topped that numerous times, his average is .632 and this postseason it's at .701.

So yes, all of us growing up watched Shaq and we all share that he was unstoppable, myself included, but factually speaking, he didn't score as much as or remotely as efficiently as Jokic.

It is actually hard to register how good Jokic is at first. He's incredible in multiple dimensions. But he's also the antithesis of a dominant physical specimen like Wilt, Shaq, Hakeem, Kareem, or Walton.

Therefore he's nearly guaranteed to be underapreciated in the future like Duncan. He's not a physical specimen. He's not playing in a major media market. He's not a demonstrative talker. He's not really interested in being a celebrity.

He won't be entirely forgotten because he's too good. But he's not going to leave behind the Jordan highlight reel that makes his game easier to appreciate.

Magic is probably the better player over Steph, but it’s my team and I need the spacing. Duncan clogs up my lane a little.

You can argue against Shaq but the people discounting him are stupid, he would knock Wilt, Hakeem, any of them on their arse, he was unstoppable.

If you don’t have LeBron in your starting 5 you’re likely a huge dumbarse who’s too invested in politics…

I think when you build a starting roster - you have to build from the best players out.

MJ is on everyone’s list.
Duncan is the best forward to ever play.

Any list without these two is not a serious list.

I would love to hear from the most successful NBA coaches in history who they would want as a starting 5.

Players need to complement each other - not just be great themselves. Look no further than this NBA season and how Bron and AD compared to Joker and Murray.

Anyone have a link to a Phil Jackson or Coach Pop list?
