I posted their record with lord and savior 21/9 Jamison.

11-47. Who couldn't jump on an 11-47 team and turn them into a title winner?! They had a 21/9 guy!!!

A contender is a team who has a legit shot to win a title. Bulls with no Jordan had NO shot. Their record and where they finished in the conference in and of itself doesn't make them a contender

Oh, gotcha. So like an 11-47 team (they had a 21/9 guy!!!)

How does a team filled with role player kinda guys win 55 games and snag the 2 seed?

They were maybe contenders to win the east. Not the whole thing.

Dude the Spurs got the 2 seed last year with almost all role players and won 65+ games. They were NOT contenders. They never had more than a 5-10% at best shot at winning the title. 10% isn't enough for me to call you a contender. Regardless of record or where you finish in the conference. If your eye test can't distinguish between contender and not then I'm wasting my time.

So by your definition the Rockets are not a contender this season. Thanks.

Borderline. I wouldn't throw a fit like the Lebron fanboys are in this thread if someone said they weren't that's for sure.

My bad, I had originally thought the Spurs had the MVP runner up, but i guess they just had a role player instead.

They needed a guy like Antwaun Jamison to push them over the top.

You do know that pretty much every NBA GM would take Leonard over Harden right?

You might literally be retarded.

The Spurs weren't contenders because "almost all" of their players were role players.

That describes every team that ever existed.

There's a difference between management building a teams and the new movement ushered in by Lebron of the best players in the game teaming up to win a try to win a title --- And that difference is what?

You really don't see a difference? LeBron's two switches of teams have involved a package of somehow getting a big 3, and yes LeBron knew Love and Bosh were going with him otherwise he wouldn't have agreed
Also, LeBron needed the best three point shooter of all time along with 3 top 5 2003 draft picks (arguably best draft class ever) to win a ship, and hes doing the same exact thing with Korver this year

Jordan's team was developed into a "super team" by good management and over time became dominant, while LeBron sold himself in packages to get championships

Leonard is probably the 3rd best player in the world. The best defender in the NBA by far.
