LeBron needs a f'n player maker

Yeah, because having a roster with 4 guys who've made all star teams in their careers, plus Tristan Thompson and JR Smith isn't enough play makers for Lebron.

I'm really starting to hate the new era of NBA "super teams" because now crybabies like Lebron whine about not having enough play makers when they have a starting 5 that has 4 current/former all stars and the 5th guy will potentially be an all star in the next few years.

I thought Lebron understood the cap better.....when you load a roster with so many high paid star players in the starting lineup, it doesn't leave much salary cap room for your bench. $84 million of $94 million cap is tied up between LBJ, Kyrie, Love, and Thompson

No delly = no title. We saw the fight they put up in the finals two years ago with delly when love and Irving were out.

The effectiveness of Delly's efforts didn't last long.

Lebron and Kyrie are the only 2 playmakers on the team. I don't really think anyone would ever have considered Kevin Love a playmaker.

Tristan Thompson a playmaker? LOL

JR Smith needs someone to pass him the ball for a 3, that's not a playmaker.

Lebron specifically mentioned if he or Kyrie go down for a couple of weeks, they go down to 1 guy on the team who can legit make plays and create for others. I don't see how that's so egregious, it's a pretty solid point.

I hate to be the one to ruin the nostalgia :/

1986-1987 Celtics
Starting five
Danny Ainge - Future all star (88)
Dennis Johnson - Former all star (1985), HOF
Bird - Current All star, HOF
McHale - Current All star, HOF
Parish - Current All star, HOF

So 4 current/former all stars with one future all star. Only 4 HOF'ers though. Luckily they had this guy off the bench,

Bill Walton- won 6th man of year, HOF

1986-1987 LA Lakers

Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, AC Green, Micheal Cooper.

Magic, Worthy, Kareem were all all-stars and HOF
AC Green future all star (90)
Cooper won DPOY

1995-1996 Bulls

Starters were MJ, Pippen, Rodman, Harper, Longley. Kukoc and Kerr off bench

MJ and Pippen all stars and HOF
Rodman former all star and HOF

Kukoc won 6th man of year, and Kerr was one of the best 3 point shooters of all time.

You people bitching about the "new era" of super teams, as if every other era didn't have them, are ridiculous

There's a difference between management building a teams and the new movement ushered in by Lebron of the best players in the game teaming up to win a try to win a title. And hey once the best player does it(Lebron) that makes it ok for any other player after him to do it. And that's what we saw with KD. Real shame in lebrons case bc he could've been GOAT without that move.

He's literally the same basketball player, no better or worse with or without that move, fwiw.

HOU in 6. Current version of Spurs play Their best ball in the regular season. Not in the playoffs like when Timmy manu tony were in their prime. These aren't those Spurs anymore.

I'll wager any amount of money you want if that series happens. The Spurs still have the best coach in the NBA and a top 5 player in the world on both ends of the floor. LA is still pretty good too.

Nope. When you are getting up there discussing between greatest and second greatest and third greatest of all time, lebron gets dinged for leaving to team up with 2 other top 5-10 players. Had he won titles in CLE on first go he would be in the discussion.

You on don't disappear now.

"Best coach in the NBA" got outcoached by a rookie coach and Doc rivers in his last 2 plauoff losses. That magic left when Duncan Parker and manu left their prime.

The difference is flawed logic.

If you have great management that surrounds you with a great cast, it's okay for you to play with them.

If you have terrible management and you go on your own to seek a team competent enough to win titles with, it means you're a coward.

There's no rhyme or reason why a player's integrity is tied to the management that surrounds him, whether it be good or bad.

KD's case is different because he left a great team for a better team. Lebron left a shitty cavs team, and he left a Miami team for a worse team (only Kyrie at the time, plus a number 1 pick).

I don't even like Jordan. Never did. But Lebron will never pass him bc he couldn't get a title without making a super team.

When Lebron went to Miami/Cleveland, they hadn't acquired Bosh or Love yet.

Isn't that management making moves? Thought that was okay, like Lakers getting Pau and Bulls getting Pippen/Rodman.

Maybe goal posts have changed.

I assure you I won't. I'm not even a Spurs fan. I'm just a basketball fan and I see that the Spurs are a better team than the Rockets. I'm not blinded by bias.

Dude we are discussing greatest ever Vs second greatest ever of course you gonna be splitting some pretty fine hairs.

Lebron quit on CLE bc he knew he couldn't win a title there. When talking about the greatest EVER that has to be held against him.

Yea how dare they lose to a team with 2 top 5 players in the world. I thought they would win that series but I wouldn't have bet on it. Actually before the playoffs started I bet OKC to get to the finals because of the great payout it offered. I was pissed when they collapsed. Cost me some money.
