Every LSU fan saying Ryan Perrilloux would win multiple heismans.
Perrilloux wouldn't have Heismans, but goddamn he would've been a good QB for us. Guy had all the talent in the world. LSU would've gone down a completely different path had he remained with the program. 2008 we don't force Lee to play too early, win a few more games.
What a maroon that kid was.

After his 1st and maybe only good game with LSU as a freshman, I had Trey Quinn as a lock to finish his career with LSU as the all time reception leader.
Oops?
Though i feel like his 100+ catch season wherever the hell he played as a Senior was a little bit of vindication.

Wasn't a bad guess. Guy is awesome at football and would've likely played 4 years for us catching a lot of balls if Les Miles wasn't our coach.

I’m pretty sure every LSU fan alive believed Ryan Perrilloux would win at least two Heismans and set every SEC QB record.
I legit can’t remember a fanbase ever hyping a recruit that much.

He was the #1 recruit in the country I believe, broke every QB record there was in Louisiana high school football, and won the SEC championship game his freshman year.
We had a lot of reasons to be excited.
ETA:
I also saw him smoking cigarettes and playing video poker at Daiquiri Cafe across the river 2 days after that SEC Championship with an older gentleman sitting with him and handing him $20 bills to play . I asked to take a picture with him and he agreed but had to hide his cigarettes and cocktail first.
Kid just didn't have his head on straight.

To be fair, I think he was on a track to be an excellent college QB if he wouldn’t have chose to gangbang instead.

He wasn't in his situation because he sucked at football.
If he wasn't an idiot, he starts in 2008 and probably does very well. LSU ran a good amount of spread in 2008 and threw the ball a lot. Lee just wasn't the guy. If he stays for his senior year in 2009, he could've easily beaten out mark ingram for the Heisman.
I feel his story doesn't really fit the spirit of the thread. I'm sure there are some Russell Shepard or Brandon Harris takes we can reflect back on though.

Oh Knight was fine. Never reached his potential but also had some nice games for sure. Above average at best though.
And definitely not Drew Brees

He led the nation in passing efficiency at Jacksonville State

I thought Jerrell Harris was going to be the next great Bama LB.

I had the awful take of thinking Tanner McEvoy was going to be another Russell Wilson for the Badgers.
As a South Carolina fan, I have to laugh hard at this one.

I remember John Brantley QB at Florida was suppose to be the next best thing in cfb

To be fair, he’s a super bowl champion.

This is such a dumb take.
He had the potential to do whatever he wanted. He was a ridiculous talent. Just dumb as frick and got kicked off.
This isn't the same as saying someone will be incredible only to see the guy get benched and transfer out.

What’s the worst take you’ve heard a fan make about a new recruit on their CFB team
May not be the worst take ever but the LSU fans on the rant still bitching that John Emery isnt getting enough playing time this year is pretty bad.

I’m pretty sure I said on multiple occasions during Russell Shepard’s freshman year that he was going to be the next Percy Harvin.

It was after a season, but after Anu Solomon's freshman year at Arizona, I thought he'd be a big time college QB.
In fairness to me, he did have 20 td's and 5 picks as a soph, but then he cratered hard.
After that freshman year, I thought he would usher in a new era of Arizona football. In a way, I was right because we have Kevin Sumlin now.
