Like many previous posts pointed out, Arkansas has a some great ones.

Seeing this face plastered all over Harrison whenever I pass thru always makes me laugh.

The college I went to out of high school was the Fighting Geese prior to merging with UNG.

FYI, the “Laker” wording is there as a reference to the college’s previous mascot of Lakers. It went on to be the name of the costumed mascot: Laker the Goose.

A friend of mine from Illinois went to a highschool (don't remember which) whose mascot was the Orphans.

When I was coaching at Brazosport (Texas) we had a whole district of unusual mascots...

Brazosport Exporters
Calhoun Sandcrabs
El Campo Ricebirds
Columbia Roughnecks
Bay City Black Cats (colors blue/gold)

Also in Texas

Frost Polar Bears
Winters Blizzards
Fredericksburg Battlin Billies
Trent Gorillas
Progreso Red Ants
Hereford Whitefaces (hereford cows have white faces... call themselves the Hostile Herd)
Deer Park Deer
Texas City Stingarees
Post Antelopes

We have some with different mascots for boys and girls...
Bridgeport Bulls/Sissies
Fort Stockton Panthers/Prowler

Not necessarily “unique,” but I like teams with a mascot that relates to something about the area.

Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, New York Yankees, Oklahoma Sooners, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Twins, Houston Oilers, SF 49ers, etc.

Minor leagues team(s) try to be unique

I agree. I have been to a Tincaps minor league game (one of the oldest minor league teams in the US, founded in 1947), and a Biscuits minor league game.

It should be a law that every mascot must be unique or related to the area it represents. Generic names that have no ties to the area are dumb and unoriginal.
