Whatever happened to Wichita State basketball?

They used to be good year after year, they even were a #1 seed a back in 2013. Now they have 1 tournament appearance since 2018.

They got rid of Gregg Marshall

There were all the allegations that Gregg Marshall was abusive toward his players. A bunch of players left and then Marshall resigned.

Wichita St was tired of winning so they ran off their great coach so the players could all have ice cream cones after practice.

They were really good in baseball in the 80s-90s as well. They fell off the map.

Got rid of Gregg Marshall for being a lunatic, had a "players coach" with not much backbone (basically swung the pendulum to far in the other direction) in Isaac Brown replace him, that failed, now theyre here. Paul Mills is good i think and will be good for the program. It'll just take time.

I was at a game last year and the crowd was chanting “bring back Marshall”. Super awkward interviews with Isaac Brown afterward. I think Gregg still lives here.
I think Paul Mills will turn it back around. I don’t know if they’ll reach the heights they were at before, but shouldn’t be this bad.

All I know is our game with them in the NCAAT in 2014 is still maybe one of my favorite CBB games of all-time.
