Is it because this website is SEC country...that everything turns to Alabama over the ACC?

This whole "could Bama beat the worst NFL team" thing came out a couple years ago and has a become a meme of sorts. No one is actually serious about it and are either trolling and/or joking. So Bama is the team always mentioned because they were the team originally mentioned in it. You're overthinking it.

Full 16 game season

I'd say 4-12

Seriously?

0-16, and every game would end in whatever score the NFL team wanted it to. Period.

Hell, the worst starters at each position in the NFL could be Alabama... or any other college team.

Obvious trolling but

The truth is that if you literally took the entire nation in CFB and put all of the best players on one team and had them play the WORST NFL team they would get absolutely drubbed. It wouldn't even be close. Forget about Alabama.

The better question is which Alabama player would they take with the #1 pick.

0-16.

But let's play out this nonsense: They would have first pick in draft. Select top Bama running back who would not pan out in NFL. Go 0-16 again. Continuously repeating this vicious retarded hypothetic cycle.

A random assortment of practice squad guys and special teams coaches given a week to prepare for the game would beat Alabama every time.

Could you imagine what NFL defenses would do to Jalen Hurts?

I'm not too sure about this one.

Practice squad guys aren't necessarily guys who were really, really good in college.

Practice squad guys would have more depth, Bama would have the better top end players.

What I think you have to consider is that even of the upper echelon of college players, top-end draft picks, most of them fail. If you look at Bama's picks the last few years there is a ton of first rounders and a lot of guys who haven't contributed (same for any school) in any significant capacity. A guy who can make a practice squad is basically inside of a 63-man NFL roster.

I'm not sure it would be a beatdown like a full roster but I think an NFL PS-only roster would probably still win pretty handily.

Every time someone makes a thread like this I think of 2003 Oklahoma. People said the same thing about them and they lost their last two games.

I don't disagree but I'd bet even with failing, some of them fail as backups or journeymen, which are still better than practice squad guys.

Possibly. It just wouldn't be a guaranteed easy victory in every scenario IMO.

The more interesting question is, could Alabama beat an NFL team from the 1980s? 1970s?

We know players are faster and bigger than ever. While I don't think 1980s 49ers teams would have any trouble, what about say the 1980 Saints who finished 1-15?
